February is somehow both the shortest and the longest month of the entire year. Just me?
Regardless, by this time, I, like many of us, am growing tired of my current wardrobe. I’ve been wearing fall and winter clothes on repeat, and the only things I’m eager to buy are transitional or spring pieces that it’s simply too cold to wear now.
One thing that you can buy ahead of a new season and wear immediately is a brand-new bag. With 2025 in full swing, spring pre-orders and new arrivals have begun to hit. But with so many major shakeups happening at our favorite brands, the bag world is on the precipice of some major changes.
While some of us are opting to hold off to see what the latter half of 2025 has in store, others are looking to fill holes within their collections or snag one last piece of a departed designer’s legacy.
New and Noteworthy
While personally, I typically lean towards getting a new bag somewhere between the end of one year and the beginning of the next year, I haven’t pulled the trigger on anything yet, but a few bags continue to remain on my radar.
First up, we’ve got the (newly named) Prada Bonnie bag. I loved it as soon as I saw it, and it’s remained firmly at the top of my lust list ever since. I was also very intrigued by Gucci’s upcoming bags, both the Horsebit Bucket from Spring 2025 and the new Softbit bag from Pre-Fall.
Further down on the list, but still, a bag that continues to intrigue me despite that it’s more on the boho side, is a bag from Alessandro Michele’s Valentino debut, the Valentino Nellcôte Bag. I was immediately drawn to the Valentino Nellcôte when it made its runway debut for Spring 2025, but when I saw the bag styled by the one and only Bella Hadid, I did a double take. Seeing the bag in real life only furthered my obsession with the soft, studded, and fringed crossbody.
In recent years, I’ve been returning to the tried-and-true classics, but this year, I finally find myself excited about bags again. With so many changes coming in the latter half of the year, something tells me 2025 is going to be a good year for bags!

I just went for a Toteme T-Lock top handle in Tan. I’d gotten the smaller clutch in the black smooth leather last summer and it was easily my favorite purchase from 2024, and knew that I wanted to add one in pebbled leather to my wish list. I love the size and it’s been fun styling it. I also have a Bottega Venera Teen Jodie on my wishlist (super late to this party, but I love the style!)
