Yes, I’m talking about the 5 things worth the money trend. Of course, as someone deeply intertwined with the world of luxury, I had to hop on this trend. Nobody asked, but without further ado, I present to you the five luxury purchases I’ve made that are completely worth the price tag!
Loewe Denim
Before I purchased Loewe’s ever-popular Anagram logo jeans in 2023, I’d never owned a pair of designer jeans. The most I’d spent on a pair was probably $300—and that was pushing it. Almost instantly, I was converted. The quality of luxury denim—and Loewe’s specifically—is unparalleled, and I loved the added luxe element of a leather logo patch on the back.
A year later, on another trip to Paris, I added a second pair of grey high-rise flare jeans to my rotation with absolutely zero regrets. I’d rather buy 1 quality pair of denim a year that I’m obsessed with than 3 or 4 pairs that feel mediocre.
Le Labo Thé Noir 29 Perfume
A decade ago, I started wearing Le Labo’s Santal 33 fragrance (along with everyone else in New York), and I’ve never received more compliments about how I smell—until I switched to the brand’s lesser-known Thé Noir 29.
Fresh and soft, with hints of bergamot, fig, cedarwood, and musk, this scent is absolutely tantalizing, and I’ve had everyone from Uber drivers to strangers on the street ask me what I’m wearing. At $348 for the larger 3.4 oz. bottle, the scent is not cheap, but it is 1,000% worth it, IMHO. Plus, if you save the bottle and refill it at a Le Labo store (I think I’m on my fourth refill by now—I’ve lost count!), you’ll receive a 15% discount.
Saint Laurent Le Loafer
In the fall, during my two-month stint living in Paris, I definitely shopped more than I should have (when in Paris!!). Most of my finds were either secondhand from curated vintage stores or thrifted from one of Paris’ many weekend markets. Still, I knew that I would make one big designer splurge, and after ruminating on the idea of Saint Laurent’s Le Loafer, I finally pulled the trigger.
Eight months later, I can tell you with 100% certainty that these are worth the 4-figure price tag. They are comfortable from the very first wear, which is so rare. The first time I wore these was to dinner that very same night I bought them. This wasn’t an Uber-to-dinner evening either—it was a 30-minute Métro ride with a transfer at Châtelet, if you know, you know. I’ve continued to wear them time and time again, and I’ve even considered adding a black pair to my rotation.
Pro tip: a stranger I bonded with over wearing the same shoes told me you can get them re-soled at Saint Laurent, which I will definitely be needing!
Louis Vuitton Urs Fisher Pochette
In early 2021, Louis Vuitton collaborated with Swiss contemporary artist Urs Fischer, completely reimagining the classic LV Monogram. Bags featured tufted velvet LV monograms and flowers, creating a cool, tactile, 3D version of the iconic Monogram print. I had to have one.
I still think this collaboration was one of the most slept-on in Vuitton’s history. It received far less buzz than many of the Maison’s other limited-edition releases, and my Pochette Accessoires in the black/white combo is one of the bags I own that receives the most compliments.
While there was a time I babied this bag because of how special it was, I finally ripped off the bandaid and wear her often. Each time I do, I remember how unique the bag is and how happy I am to have snagged it. So go ahead, buy the bag that’s unique, slept on, or out of the box—you won’t regret it!
A Good Vintage Designer Chain Belt
I’ve had my eye on a vintage Chanel chain belt for about a decade, and while the price tag is pretty hefty, I can confidently say the investment will be well worth it when I find the perfect one. I know this to be true because a couple of years ago, I found a fun vintage Moschino chain belt on The RealReal, and it remains one of the most used accessories in my closet.
What I love about it is that it not only elevates any outfit but is also a chain-style belt, so I can wear it snugly at my true waist or lower on my hips. I’ve worn this to elevate jeans, over a dress to cinch my waist, and countless other ways.
