Sabato De Sarno’s Gucci is a continued conversation between the brand’s past and present, and each collection clearly links the two. For Pre-Fall 2025, De Sarno references 1970s Gucci, taking the House’s heritage and brand DNA of the time and reimagining it through his distinctly modern lens.
There are unmistakable nods to one of fashion’s most celebrated decades. Think sky-high platforms, tailored suit sets, a bandana-inspired print taken from the Flora motif, silk headscarves, and more. A distinctly feminine allure juxtaposes menswear-inspired trousers paired with statement furs and colorful knits—a celebration of casual luxury.
Introducing the Gucci Softbit
Clear nods to the Gucci archives are present throughout, like the iconic Gucci Horsebit, an omnipresent detail seen on shoes, bags, and ready-to-wear. Luxe but pragmatic, the collection further plays on the idea of individuality and the confidence expressed through fashion. At the same time, the past is reimagined with a contemporary allure.
The bags are just as thrilling as the collection overall. There are plenty of classic Gucci icons like the Gucci Jackie 1961 and the reimagined Gucci Blondie, alongside new bags like the Horsebit Bucket, which was introduced on the Spring 2025 runway.
Pre-Fall 2025 also sees the introduction of an entirely new (and exciting) shape: the Gucci Softbit. Defined by its soft leather and slouchy silhouette, it is finished with a Gucci Horsebit detail, breathing new life into the decades-old motif and once again cementing De Sarno’s link between the Gucci of then and the Gucci of now.

I am really vibing with this collection! This is classic Gucci.
I’ve always loved Gucci. But these images are stunning. Love the olive tones, the silks, very beautiful collection.
I second that! I am head over heels in love with everything!!!
This is his first collection that has clicked with me. Still not sure if his vision for the Gucci customer has a strong enough point of view to differentiate from the many other brands doing similar things… but this is beautiful.
The “softbit” bag will be “hard” to sell in francophone countries 😂
This is probably an inside joke, but can you be kind enough to explain it? I love a good joke even though it may not be as funny if it has to be explained. I know what “francophone countries” and”mdr” means, but I don’t get the joke. Thx!
The second part of the word has the some pronunciation of the male reproductive organ in French slang.
mdr 😂
Hahahah exactement
This collection is beautiful! WOW!
I really like so much here….the clothes, shoes, and bags!
I like De Sarno but the Softbit looks like Tod’s T shopping bag
That was exactly my first thought. Did not read ‘Gucci’ in the first place and thought it was a copy of Tod’s Timeless shopper.
I like the small Softbit.
Hey , i have found an old bag. maybe feom Gucci, can Somebody Help me? Sorry Tor my english
Finally Gucci seems to be coming home.
It’s taken a while.
Huh, they made the bizarre decision to change the hardware of the Jackie bag into generic looking lobster clasps only to change it back after only a few seasons..?
