The year was 2016. I was pregnant. Alessandro Michele was at the helm of Gucci, and he introduced a bag that has proven its status as a symbol after surpassing the decade club, not only staying around but also remaining relevant and beloved. This is, of course, the Gucci Marmont, a bag that has defined the brand’s past era.
And even under new creative leadership, the Marmont line continues to evolve. I was such an all-in early Marmont lover that I took a break for a while. I’d check out new releases or seasonal updates, but other Gucci bags were calling to me. That is, until now. This is the Gucci Jetset Marmont line, one that takes the signature quilting and turns it into vertical, stitched lines.
My favorite rendition is the one that looks like it’s been worn in, well-loved, almost like the perfect leather motorcycle jacket sitting in your closet. The house Web stripe detail is included, and the GG hardware, which truly defines the bag.
More New Marmont Options
There are different sizes and finishes, with the classic bag coming in both small and medium. While there is a vintage black leather version, there are also clean leather versions with gold or silver hardware.
While the direction at the House of Gucci has changed, one thing is for certain: the Marmont line will continue to be a cornerstone. It is a constant for the brand, and we will be seeing it for decades to come.

Never liked this bag. And I really don’t care for this update.
