If you live in the Northeast, I know you feel me when I say this has been one of the coldest winters in recent memory. We’re only 8 days away from the end of the month, and while March definitely makes it feel like spring is somewhere in sight, March tends to surprise us with pretty cold weather (and sometimes even snow).
Even still, the days are getting just a little bit longer (and lighter), and I can tell because when 5:30 hits and I’m getting ready to shut my laptop for the day and head out for my evening run, the sun is only starting to set. This gets me hyped for spring, but truly nothing, and I mean nothing, else gets me as excited for a new season than mulling over the new arrivals hitting our favorite e-tailers.
In the past five years or so I’ve transitioned to shopping a lot more mindfully. For the most part, I opt to purchase a lesser quantity of items per year and instead purchase a handful of higher-quality items. I haven’t purchased something from Zara or another fast fashion retailer in a number of years and it is a personal choice I’m quite proud of.
This means that I regret fewer purchases I’ve made over the years, as most things I’ve bought have been well thought out and calculated. Of course, I’ve always got a running list of items I want and also those that I feel will fill a void in my closet. Let’s dive in!
Prada Bonnie Bag
A surprise to absolutely no one, the number one item on my want list this year is the Prada Bonnie Bag. I fell in love with this bag almost immediately when it first came out, and then when Prada dropped it in suede last summer, I knew it would be a hit. Sure enough, it was, selling out almost immediately and popping up all over my social feeds.
Recently, Prada dubbed the bag the Bonnie Bag and giving it an official name means this bag is here to stay. I’ve wanted this bag for almost a year, which is a true indicator that it was not a fleeting love affair. Here’s to manifesting that this bag enters my collection this year.

AGOLDE Zyla Cinch Jacket
A denim jacket is a true wardrobe staple, and while I own two of them already, I wear each one enough to justify adding a third to my closet. This one by AGOLDE is not only the perfect wash of denim, but it taps into the cinched waist trend, adding a flattering shape to a typically more boxy silhouette.

Gucci Horsebit Ballet Flats
If I start explaining how much I love these, we would be here all day. All I’ll say is that I used to dance ballet and these make me so nostalgic in the best possible way.

Helsa Rib Mix Shirting Mini Dress
I’ve been eyeing everything that Elsa Hosk, founder of the label Helsa, puts out. Her vision is distinctly feminine and of the moment without being too trendy. I need an invite to a wedding or gala to justify the dress I really want, but I’d wear this one all summer with sandals, kitten heels, or the Gucci ballets.

Reformation Sophie Knit Top
This top is so simple but so chic. I’d pair it with jeans, fun heels, and a cool bag for an effortless, no-fuss outfit that still looks like I tried.

Tibi Sid Jeans
I love baggy jeans in a great wash that can be transitioned from day to night, and this pair from Tibi could do just that. After buying a couple of pairs of Loewe jeans, I’ve realized it’s worth spending a bit more money on good denim. These would look great with sneakers and heels, making the versatility worth the price.

Jil Sander Kitten-Heeled Slingbacks
These are classics I would wear with literally so many things already in my closet. Need I say more?

Acne Studios Asymmetric Knotted Cutout Dress
Yet another item with which I find myself unable to articulate how (and why) obsessed I am is this midi-length dress from Acne Studios. I was served this in an Instagram ad, and I haven’t been able to get it out of my head since.
The silhouette is fairly simple and also flattering. The knots, which are inspired by Japanese obi sashes and are also seen on Acne’s Musubi bag, add a cool stylistic touch.

Miu Miu Drill Baseball Cap
Admittedly, there’s about a 10% chance that I would ever actually buy this hat, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want it. I often run my morning errands or walk the dog with a baseball cap—and sunglasses if I’m trying to remain incognito. While my $50 Polo Ralph Lauren hat does the trick, I would happily trade up for this one if my secret admirer is listening.

Saint Laurent Le 5 à 7 Supple
Another bag that remains at the top of my want list is Saint Laurent’s supple version of its ever-popular Le 5 à 7, particularly in suede. I’m not a self-proclaimed pink princess, but I do appreciate having a bit of the girly hue in my wardrobe when done just right.

Simon Miller Loch Poplin Shirt
A crisp white button-down is one item you can never go wrong with, and this cool option from Simon Miller takes it up a notch. It’s all business in the front and a party in the back. Plus the tapering at the waist adds a flattering element.

La Ligne Colby Satin Pants
These are the type of pants that are so comfortable they’d feel like pajamas but somehow still look so sleek. I’ve had a silky pant on my radar for a bit, and I love that the color orange is fun and a bit unexpected.
Of course, black is more practical but more useful isn’t always enjoyable. These would be so cute to wear with a low heel and a cute top for a night out or paired with sneakers and an oversized sweater for errands.

Spending £600+ on a cap is crazy to me
Agreed — you’re paying for the logo to advertise their brand. They should pay YOU to wear it :). Much cooler to wear a cap from an indie brewery
