A New Loewe Icon Has Arrived

Unpacking the sculptural details of the Loewe Ola Bag

When Jonathan Anderson joined Loewe over a decade ago, it was not nearly the label we know and love today. Founded on the ideals of an unmatched attention to detail and a unique expertise in leathercraft, Jonathan Anderson focused on Loewe’s storied heritage through a fresh lens.

There’s no denying that Anderson completely revolutionized Loewe, catapulting it to ubiquity and allowing a whole new generation of fans to experience the Loewe love. Anderson remained true to the brand’s heritage and deep roots while focusing on innovation.

One of his last new shapes for Loewe, the Ola, perfectly represents Anderson’s vision at Loewe—innovative and unique with a focus on materials and craft.

A Deeper Look at the Loewe Ola Bag

Making its debut in raffia, the Ola bag first dropped in Loewe’s Paula’s Ibiza 2025 collection earlier this season. However, this seasonal drop is here to stay, releasing today in leather alongside the rest of Loewe Pre-Fall 2025 collection.

The new Ola bag is defined by its flowing, sculptural lines. Its curved body is incredibly unique and artful, reminiscent of my first impression of the Loewe Puzzle bag all those years ago.

That uniqueness makes the Ola bag a statement piece to consider as Anderson’s last bags for Loewe continue to drop.

The bag is further defined by its mixed-media donut chain, which is fitted with a circular Anagram logo. The chain can be worn over the shoulder or switched out for a longer tubular calfskin strap. The flowing, curved leather detail is more than just a design element; it folds open and closed, revealing the interior of the bag.

On the interior, you’ll find one slip pocket, while on the exterior, there is a snapped pocket on the bag’s back. The Loewe Ola bag comes in black, sand, burgundy, and ginger and is available today in stores and via Loewe for $3,250.

I think it’s a little premature to call it an icon.

This particular contributor loves to use the word “icon” and “iconic”….

Something is off with the styling – this campaign looks like it’s shot in an asylum and the models unwell
