Summer is on the horizon, and like many of you, I’m hunting for a few pieces to spruce up the items already in my closet. When it comes to shoes, I admittedly own enough sneakers to wear a different pair every day of the month, and when I’m not in sneakers, I’m usually wearing my Bottega Veneta boots. Where I struggle in the summer is when I’m getting ready for a night out. The winter, I’ve got covered with a variety of heeled boots, but warmer weather continuously throws me for a loop. I have pretty bad feet and cannot wear a super high heel, a skinny heel, or a stiletto, and when I go out, I want to be comfortable enough to dance and not be in tears by the time I’m ready to go home. That’s where platforms come in. Chunky and trending, not everyone loves the platform sandal look, but I’m so happy they’ve come back in style because it’s a silhouette I can actually stand wearing!

It’s Tuesday Shoesday, so you know what that means; we’re bringing you some of the best platform sandals we could find. Platforms started resurfacing last spring, and they’ve steadily gained momentum. I’ve already indulged in this trend and ordered the Schutz denim sandals below, but I’m super into this trend, and I will definitely be ordering another pair. Below I’ve rounded up 12 of the best pairs at a variety of budgets to help you dabble in this trend too! Are you here for it, or are you passing on platforms?

Seeing these shoes makes me feel old. I am passed the age where I am willing to break an ankle because I stepped on some uneven pavement and fell off of my shoe.Very cute though. I will admire them on someone else’s foot.

These are just social media gimmick shoes. The ones you wear for the picture and immediately change back into your sneakers. Having discovered designer sneakers, I am never going back to uncomfortable shoes ever again. A dressy sneaker is my jam 🙂

I agree. There ARE ways to make even high heels comfortable, don’t get me wrong, but these aren’t it. Especially the mule ones must at the very least make an annoying flopping/clicking sound I imagine, it would drive me crazy even if it miraculously didn’t slip.

I just hate them all! Clunky and awkward is what I see.

Wearing shoes like these or even 4-5” heels eventually takes a toll on a woman’s feet. Over time the foot will no longer be able to accommodate them as it becomes too painful, due to the long term damage these shoes cause. Eventually kitten heels, flats, etc. become the shoes of choice. Yes, heels make feet and legs look elongated and elegant, but the long term damage is not worth it.

Reminds me of my aunt 15yrs ago when she used to wear heels like this…and her all time favorite those over 4inch wedge. Now she wears those ysl tribute platforms only for a few hours. Flats are her go to shoes these days. I’m miss seeing her wear heels.
