As we enter mid-July and sale season begins to wind down, we will soon be inundated by fall’s new arrivals. While it may not feel like it is where you are, with temperatures in many places seeing record highs this summer, cooler weather and new beginnings are on the horizon.
Eventually, we’ll be trading our cold brews for hot chai lattes, fisherman sandals for fall boots, and, yes, summer bags for fall carries. Fall often means richer textures, warmer colors, and, for some, a muted palette.

However, if our favorite designers have anything to say about it, muted most definitely does not mean neutral. Designers like Gucci, Ferragamo, and Loewe offer up beautiful hues that delight, with one of fall’s biggest trends including lush olive greens.
Love for Louis
One of fall’s most praised collections celebrated a decade of Nicolas Ghesquière’s work at Louis Vuitton. There were clear odes to the Maison’s storied history in trunk-making and travel, with silhouettes celebrating some of the beloved creative director’s most important work. I am most excited to see this one hit stores, and many of the collection’s runway bags have intrigued me.

One of the collection’s most exciting new bags also incorporates several elements that are currently trending—think tiny top handles and an east/west silhouette. Appearing in Epi leather in a range of shades, this simple but sleek shape is incredibly wearable and is one of fall’s most exciting new arrivals.
Which collection are you most looking forward to seeing in boutiques?
Mmmmm… I love that LV epi leather in those colors!
Glad to see more epi leather. Long wearing, scuff resistant. Very substantial looking.
Can never have enough burgundy
I ‘ve seen several appealing bags in these fall collection previews. Nevertheless, the LV east-west bag shown here is the one I’m most likely to pull out my wallet for. Especially in the rich jewel tones. I look forward to checking them out in person!
That’s a cute Louis Vuitton bag. I didn’t see a price. I’m guessing around $2800.
I hope you are right, but I suspect it will be over $3k.
Burgundy and rich warm browns, especially in suedes. I’m a sucker for a classic fall style. A bit like “florals for spring, ground breaking” haha!
Absolutely love the east-west in burgundy. I have really liked the collection under Nicolas Ghesquière.
NG has brought a whole new dimension to the brand. I love the rtw and accessories under his leadership. If only he would also design the men’s collection. Sigh.
Love the fact that Olive is a colour for 2024
It is too similar, almost identical shape to the classic Amazon from Loewe. The model has also offered that size and leathers, including harder leather in classical calf. It is a beautiful model but too similar to present as LV model novelty.
Loewe did not invent that shape. Besides, the Amazona is hideous–like most things sold by Loewe.
It also links back to LV bags from past collections that still have many fans: Pont Neuf and Jasmin.
Or the Alma and St. Jacques. Epi is a wonderful underappreciated leather. It takes color so well.
