Since the beginning, the House of Ferragamo has undergone many iterations of change. These days, a new renaissance is taking place under the watchful eye of Creative Director Maximilian Davis, who continues to explore the rich history and tradition of the Ferragamo name, creating a link between past and present.
Now, a few seasons in, Davis has cemented his vision at the Heritage House, offering a fresh take on refined classics. That vision is evermore apparent in Ferragamo’s Fall 2024 collection, which explores the 1920s through Davis’ lens, creating a dialogue through clothes. The collection further takes us on a journey of expression and freedom, which was indicative of the fashion of that era.
“The 1920s used clothing as a way to celebrate freedom. And that expression of freedom is something which resonates with me, with my heritage, and with Ferragamo.” – Maximilian Davis.
The Details
Ready-to-wear is lush, offering bold textures and warm colors, and the bags are designed with the same sentiments in mind. Craft remains at the core, and seasonal iterations of the new House staple, the Hug Bag, echo that importance.
There are a few variations whose details ooze a unique elegance, but the most notable is one featuring 950 laminated leather sequins, which are applied by hand, taking over 19 hours of artisanal craft to create a mermaid scale effect.
The Fiamma also remains an integral part of this collection, introduced in a new size. As for newness entirely, a soft shape joins the lineup, which features an iconic Gancini closure. Its structure takes inspiration from the shape of the lily, which is the symbol of Florence, Ferragamo’s home city. View bags from the runway below.

Not a fan of the Hug bag, AKA the Birkin’s deformed cousin.
The Hug is not that similar to the Birkin. It’s dome shaped. Plus, the Birkin has sangles in the front that meet. On the Hug, the back of the bag wraps around to hug the front. The side view of this bag is so gorgeous.
Absolutely adorable ❤️❤️
The last photo is my favorite! What a great evening bag. Next favorite is the brown bag in photo 13. Would need to check measurements, but it looks like a sophisticated work bag. Not sure if the color shown is black or brown — I would love it to be a rich chocolate brown.
I love the colors, styles and textures ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The leather scales- love love
I love everything. It’s my fav brand anyway from the European houses.
While cleaning my closet, I stumbled upon a long-forgotten Ferragamo Hug-type bag I purchased a long time ago. It’s delightful to see the same silhouette making a comeback!
The way they’re carrying some of these bags makes them look extra heavy. Not something that appeals to my complete lack of upper body strength, but I love love love that green color!
Those look like Celine box bags
The yellow and mint green clutch is the only one I might consider buying.
