It feels like just yesterday that we were recapping all of the bags spotted during the Spring 2024 fashion month season. However, that was, in fact, four months ago already, and what we saw on the runways will slowly be popping up in stores over the next couple of months.
You know what that means, don’t you?
Another fashion month season is on the horizon.
While we have pretty good indicators of what is or will be trending, thanks to the inspiration (and fashion data) from the previous season, we often look to the street style set to see what people are actually wearing. Trends are made by the masses who adopt them, taking what was shown by designers and adapting them IRL.
When it comes to the bags, it’s a no-brainer that the carryalls seen outside of the shows mimic what the masses are loving, buying, and carrying. Think of the ubiquity of Bottega Veneta and Loewe, not to mention the Prada Cleo in recent seasons.

What’s to Come
As the trend towards quieter luxury pieces forges on this season, paired with the return of big bags AND the continued obsession with massive pouches for daytime wear, one bag is ready to shine: the Ferragamo Hug.
Introduced for Fall 2023, the Hug is defined by its curved shape and folded side panels, which mimic a hug. While we did see a bit of the Hug Bag during last season, this season, it’s destined to be the star of the show.
Already a favorite of stars like Lori Harvey, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Kylie Jenner, street style stars, fashion editors, and more will most certainly be next on the list. My fashion sixth sense believes the pouch version will be the Hug of choice.
A Modern Ode to the Past
The Ferragamo Hug Bag is the perfect example of a modern but timeless. While the design feels simple at first glance, the details make the bag, like the straps that are complete with Ferragamo’s historic Gancini—the perfect combination of contemporary and classic.
The Hug stays true to the core DNA of Ferragmo, an ode to the past and its widely-known commitment to craftsmanship, while simultaneously feeling relevant for today’s fashion thanks to its minimal branding and luxe appeal. It will fit your phone and anything else you might need to get you from place to place (or, as we’re predicting, show to show).
Finally!! Ferragamo deserves its time in the sun!
Actually bought my first Ferragamo last week and in love with it. My newfound brand.
Am I the only one that thinks this bag is ugly?!
Sometimes when I look at them I think “something’s just not right…” and other times I look at them and love them.
there is something about the proportions of this bag which just doesn’t seem right
What about the bag do you find “ugly”?
Reminds me of Hermes Birkin or Kelly so I’ll pass.
Are they taking the mickey out of Hermes? Since the Kelly & Birkin are such a hassle to get into, people commonly just leave the straps undone.
At first, the front looks meh, but seeing the bag from the side in the first photo drew me in.
Looking forward to seeing more of young Maximilian Davis’ designs.
Shhh! I have and LOVE this bag – especially because I don’t see it on everyone and their aunt Judy yet!
Hahahahaha yeah ok, how much did the brand pay you for this article? Ferragamo isn’t even the top three in relevancy right now.
I think Ferragamo offers good value for money, as premium brands go. I have several pairs of Ferragamo shoes, four Ferragamo wallets and one bag. So I really tried to like this bag…but I just can’t get past a mehh shrug, even after seeing and handling it in the store. I think my Fiamma (in a special edition laser cut herringbone leather) has greater staying power than the Hug.
I suggest people give another look at what Bally current has in their bag lines. Some very nice items at not exorbitant prices (meaning: under $2k). For example, the Trilliant bag (standard size) in black crocodile finish or blue suede. Or the larger Pennant tote bag. (I would put in the links but that automatically seems to send posts to some kind of limbo dimension). Try ballydotchslashenslashproducts
This bag looks cheap!!
Reminds me of The Row Margaux bag.
It’s literally a Hermès knock off for Hermès journey LOSERS 😂 Couldn’t get the Kelly or Birkin so they go for this… t h I n g. Pitiful.
You sound like you’re in high school. Pitiful.
Calling Hermes purchasers losers is pitiful.
Actually, I don’t think it referred to Hermes purchasers. It actually refers to people who were not able to purchase Hermes B/K so they bought this Ferragamo bag instead. But IMO, it’s also not cool to call them losers. No matter what bag you carry, rudeness and arrogance aren’t attractive.
It’s also interesting when people think purchasing a Birkin or Kelly is for flex, etc. but for me it isn’t. I’ve purchased from many top designers, but appreciate the quality of leather products that Hermes produces.
