It’s been a long few weeks for the fashion world, but the fashion month marathon has finally ceased.
While we can’t exactly feign fatigue, as we’ve participated in the comings and goings from the beauty of our own home, the last month has been a busy one. We’ve covered the street-style bags of New York, Milan, and Paris to the newest collections from Prada, Loewe, Louis Vuitton, and more.
When unpacked, each show looks into a brand’s current direction, whether a new trajectory entirely (like that of Chloé) or a continued evolution. The runway provides more than a show. However, when analyzing as a whole, fashion month gives us an initial idea of what will be trending in the coming months.
We analyzed the many bag-focused presentations from the Fall 2024 season and found 4 major handbag themes that continued to pop up.
By now, you know that olive green is becoming the color of choice, featured countless times throughout the month, and it’s quickly becoming the new it color. When it comes to the details? Utility-inspired bags have made their way around the world—think buckles, multi-pockets, and more.
In terms of shapes and silhouettes? Top handles were the carry of choice this season; from east/west designs to ladylike shapes, bag lovers will be ditching their crossbody bags in favor of tiny top handles.
Check out all of the trends we spotted below!
