Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2022 Bags Celebrate the Brand’s Savoir Faire

Featuring new shapes alongside reinterpretations of fan-favorites

Louis Vuitton just presented its spring 2022 collection at Paris’ famed Louvre, and as the show notes state, it was grand and it was great. The collection is meant to inspire living in the present and existing where time is of no consequence. Pieces from the collection, dubbed ‘an invitation of the grand ball of time,’ are meant to transform and inspire, transcending generations and juxtaposing elements from various eras. One look at RTW and bags from the collection and the viewer can be transported.

As for the bags, Louis Vuitton fans won’t be disappointed. There are fresh takes on old favorites, like an elongated version of the ever-popular Petite Malle, which is shown in classic monogram alongside elaborate, embellished versions. The art of the trunk continues with Louis Vuitton’s newest silhouette, a small hard-sided top handle, which celebrates and showcases the Maison’s storied savoir-faire. There is also a new all-leather Pochette, which is simple in shape but bears the Petite Malle’s iconic trunk-like closure and two strap options. As for the carry-over styles, The Cannes and Coussin bag are reimagined for spring 2022, shown in Monogram-embossed patent leather with contrasting details. View bags from the runway below. Maybe I’m in the minority, but these bags are luscious! I can’t wait to see them in person!

Meh. Other than the coussin and the trunks. Eh.

My thoughts exactly! Big, fat, MEH.

I think Louis Vuitton has surpassed Hermes in making ugly – unattractive – impractical bags

I like the mesh Cannes bag. Some of them look very pedestrian. Nothing wrong with that. I own pedestrian bags. But, I’m not going to pay jacked up prices for a bag that looks like a Kate Spade.

Over Consumption x Extinction! 😂
Sadly nothing inspiring……… better save my money for upcoming Fendi x Versace collaboration!!

It looks like they are participating in fast fashion now. They seem to be throwing things out and seeing what sticks. They need to slow their role before they become a he Michael Kors.

LOVE the Petite Malle in 8. I’m curious about the top handle trunk.
