Louis Vuitton’s Summer State of Mind
Most exciting are the bags which feel light and refreshed for the season, like the Capucines Flowergram, which is fitted with a signature chain, or the Low Key Hobo in striped canvas, a nod to the materials used on deckchairs. Monogram is given new life as well, with a range of Monogram Dune Canvas pieces introduced for the summer season, like the Nano Speedy and more, all part of the LV Crafty Capsule.
Speaking of Monogram, OGs will notice the return of the Pochette Papillon in Monogram Canvas, following its release in Monogram Emblème earlier this year. Once reserved as an add-on to the original Louis Vuitton Papillon, designed to be worn on the exterior of the larger bag, the Pochette Papillon now stands in a league of its own. This capsule is a true collector’s dream, culminating with the introduction of the Louis Boat Trunk, which celebrates the anniversary of The Louis, the cruise-ship shaped architectural installation located in Shanghai.

Charging $1500 for that teeeny thing that used to come with the full size Papillon is an absolute INSULT! They’ve lost their minds truly.
Yep. The inflation on these tiny, basically useless mono canvas bags is out of control. LV is totally out of touch with today’s marketplace. Price-gouging isn’t a good look, LV!

I wish they’d bring back the full size Papillon. It’s an LV icon and one of their most comfortable, practical bags.
No doubt Papillon will ultimately come back. Vuitton regularly releases updated versions of its most iconic styles. Of course… prices are updated too!

$1,500+ USD for that papillon internal pochette in mono canvas?? They’ve GOT to be joking!! You could purchse a vintage one for less than 1/4 that price. I bought the tiny epi leather lipstick pouch and returned it — $600 for something that won’t even hold a credit card or DL. Looks cute but has practically zero functionality and WAAAY overpriced for what it is. Out of touch, LV, out of touch….
