Last week, a slow stream of chatter began on Twitter that Kim Kardashian West, co-founder of the lounge and shapewear brand SKIMS, would collaborate with FENDI. This week, the partnership was officially announced, and today we’ve got a first look at the capsule collection, which unifies the aesthetic codes of each brand’s DNA to create a wardrobe designed with the modern woman in mind.
Designed by Kim Jones in collaboration with SKIMS, the idea for this unique partnership came about when Jones was visiting Rome with his team from Fendi. While sitting together at the studio in Rome, the women on his team suddenly averted their attention from the present moment to their phones, clamoring the get their fingers on the new SKIMS collection. Almost instantly, an idea was born.
“The SKIMS mission of creating solutions for all women is directly mirrored within that of FENDI. My FENDI is about creating something for every woman, every different shape – and that’s something at the heart of SKIMS too” – Kim Jones
The collection also has an archival element, drawing upon sketches from a Fendi collection designed by Karl Lagerfeld in 1979. The late-70s collection featured twisted tube tops, tight sashes, bright hues, and pop colors, all focusing on the female form. FENDI X SKIMS is a modern interpretation, combining SKIMS’s meticulous attention to fit and form with Fendi’s stylistic appeal.
Form-fitting shapes and silhouettes are crafted and engineered for support, while bonded leather dresses draw upon a Roman statuesque aesthetic. Neutral hues pave the way for bold colors and gradients, saturating the collection of contemporary and shapewear pieces. The collection features a hybrid FENDI x SKIMS logo, appearing embossed onto knitwear and printed atop recycled nylon sportswear.
As for the accessories, a few standout pieces appear, complimenting the casual feel of the RTW. There are brightly colored Fendi Chain Baguettes in wearable sizes as well as the off-the-moment mini micro Baguette. Bold pinks and coral hues sit alongside neutral versions of these icons. The collection will also feature the iconic Peekaboo and new FENDI First as well as the signature Sunshine Shopper in 3D FF logo.
Mark your calendars and set your alarms. The anticipated and sure-to-sell-out FENDI x SKIMS collection will launch on November 9th at 9am EST. It will be available via www.fendiskims.com, select FENDI stores, and retailers globally.

This looks very grotesque and something a prostitute may wear – who in their right mind would pay money to buy this crap?
I am sitting here with a deadpan look on my face. I am really not sure what I just saw.
Sadly the influencer generation will be all over this.
No thanks. One word!
Is it just me? I don’t see anything here that is chic, stylish, or fashion-forward. The designs are awful. The logo print is awful. The colors are awful. Throw it all away.
for me, this devalues fendi and makes it feel less tasteful and chic. not only will I pass on this collab, but it’s making me want to pass on fendi altogether; it may not be logical, but for me it just cheapens my perception of the whole brand.
And, here I am, considering getting a Fendi bag. I’m trying so hard not to let this sour my love of Fendi. Who thought this was a good idea? Ugh…
Me too! I’ve been thinking to pull the trigger on a First bag, but this is really turning me off.
Well, that’s an easy NO
I found this to be unnecessary. Shapewear with a logo. But at this point Kim is using celebrity power to push skims. Team USA the official lounge wear. Now Fendi. There is more to come with this…just seems over the top.
Everything kardashian touches is gross. I used to like fendi bags and I was thinking of adding one to my collection but after this low class ad, I’ll rather not.
This makes sense to me, Skims always looked like fendi knock offs to me
No not really. Fenty is a lot more flashier with more designs. I’m not a celebrity clothing fan, but Skims is a good brand, idk about this collab with Fendi, I was expecting more
These only “flatter” a model thin woman; they aren’t a curvy woman’s friend.
I love the purses! They’re so pretty
I feel like I should have seen this coming based off their past collections but I didn’t.
She has a way of never disappearing. She know how to make money, this will be an instant hit with the general audience especially because the prices will be lower than a typical Fendi piece. Sigh, capitalism.
I love it, so much hate and I don’t know why!
I’m here wondering: why? These look cheap and vulgar, like authorized knock offs. nothing like the classy vibe this brand usually oozes. I’ll preserve my soon to be vintage pieces with better care, because if this is the direction the brand is taking, I say no thank you
đź‘€ Yikes.
