When it comes to celebrity handbag sightings, the major discourse in the 2020s is that it can be incredibly hard to discern what a celebrity actually wants to wear versus what they are gifted and/or paid to wear.

Yet seeing a celebrity wear or carry a new handbag is exciting. It’s often the first look we get at someone wearing and styling the bag in a real way. Plus, most celebrities aren’t of model height and size, allowing a more realistic picture of what a bag looks like worn on the body.

Why Rihanna’s Handbag Choices Still Stand Out

Still, it’s smart to be mindful that not everything you see is organic placement, and while it can be difficult to discern, seeing a true pap shot—one that isn’t staged or where the star isn’t overly made up—always leaves us feeling nostalgic for another time.

That’s exactly what we felt when we spotted late-night snaps of Rihanna leaving César Restaurant in Paris over the weekend.

Rihanna’s style and bags always feel uniquely chosen by her, and while, as a celebrity, relationships with brands are a given, RiRi has been a Dior fan from the jump, so seeing her with the latest from the brand feels like a no-brainer.

Not to mention, it’s true that the iconic Barbadian has never been spotted carrying an Hermès Birkin or Kelly, despite her star status, which truly solidifies Rihanna’s choices. Her style is calculated and uniquely hers, and a co-sign from Ri is one we pay attention to.

A Closer Look at Rihanna’s Latest Handbag Moment

When heading to her waiting ride, Rihanna left César Restaurant in a dressed-down, casual-yet-cool look, pairing jeans with a black hoodie, Miu Miu snakeskin sneakers, and the latest from Jonathan Anderson’s Dior—the Toujours Hobo.

RiRi opted for the sleek black version of the new Toujours, which debuted on the Fall 2026 runway, hitting boutiques earlier this summer. While the bag is mostly shown carried by hand with its cinched strap, Rihanna proved its versatility by carrying it by the longer detachable strap, which lends a more casual, relaxed appeal.
