If you’ve been locked in with us over the last month, you, too, might feel the current slump known as fashion month fatigue, but don’t tune out just yet! We’ve got one epic roundup to close out the Spring 2025 season.
We’ve covered the best street-style bags from NYFW straight on through Chanel and Miu Miu in Paris, plus a whole lot more. Meanwhile, on the runways, we’ve unpacked the collections of Loewe, Gucci, Prada, Chanel and more.
While each show individually gives a good look at a brand’s current trajectory and vision, analyzing the season as a whole offers an initial idea of the trends that will be big in the coming season.
We looked at the major runways of the top handbag players from New York, London, Milan, and Paris to see what the overarching themes were. While the double bag trend was a major contender, there were four themes that we simply could not ignore.
Soft Suede
Suede is quickly becoming one of the year’s biggest trends, and if the runways are any indication, it will continue right through next year. We saw soft suedes popping up throughout the month in a variety of shapes and shades. Go ahead and hit that add-to-cart button; suede is here to stay.

Green Dreams
It’s been a very green year. From shades of olive to brat green and everything in between, green (right up there with red) has been one of the biggest color trends of the 2020s so far. It continues for Spring 2025, with more bright green bags (and deep olives, too) appearing on the runway. At Miu Miu, soft suede meets green dreams while Sabato de Sarno continues to embrace his now-signature bright green hue at Gucci.

East Meets West
Like us, designers can’t seem to get enough of east/west bags for spring 2025. While shoulder bags remain a go-to shape, this season, there were also top-handle options to pick from. Hermès brought its East/West Birkin back to the runway for spring, while Miu Miu and Prada introduced color-blocked versions of the popular silhouette.

Fun Fringe
It seems that fringe, first seen on the fall runways, is here to stay! While we’re focusing on the bags, it’s worth noting that the trend was also a major one within the season’s ready-to-wear. From full-on fringe to trims, top handles, and more, 2025’s bags are all about that added flair!

Out of all the bags I like the east west Michael Kors & Stella MacCartney bag the most, which is a bit of a surprise since I don’t own any bags from them
I have never carried an east/west bag and sort of dismissed them when I started reading about them this summer. But the shape is growing on me, especially if I can carry it on my shoulder. They seem like a good size and things would be easy to find inside.
Many moons ago I owned a Charles David bag that looked EXACTLY like the Burberry suede hobo. That thing was a workhorse.
