The invitation sent ahead of the presentation gave guests attending Jonathon Anderson’s Spring 2025 Loewe runway show a clue to the collection’s focus. Paper squares bearing the show’s information were wrapped in leather ties adorned with a gold ring that read: Loewe 1846. 1846 was the year Loewe was founded, and it is the brand’s heritage that is the grounding factor throughout the collection.
Ready-to-wear is a mix of sculptural hems, draped tailoring, and mini-dresses with a focus on unique textures and interesting lines. As to be expected from Anderson, the pieces as a whole beg to be seen, but at second glance, the beauty is in the details.
Take the incredible attention to craft that goes into making the collection’s Trapeze dress. In total, it takes over 10 hours and three artisans to complete the delicate process of tearing thin silk by hand to create a rippling effect.
New and Old Shapes Meet Classic Loewe Craft
That attention to detail has become an integral part of Jonathon Anderson’s Loewe, and it extends to the bags this season as well. The classic shape of the House’s iconic Puzzle bag returns to the runway this season, with new life infused into its geometric lines in the form of light nappa leather with a dangling leather tag.
A new bag makes its debut this season, too, once again tying back to Loewe’s heritage. A soft, smooshy shoulder bag defined by its voluminous shape, The Madrid is named after Loewe’s home city. The bag puts the brand’s craftsmanship at the forefront, arriving in small and larger sizes. Discover more from the runway and backstage below, images courtesy of Loewe.
I’m into the bags. Those lace-up oxfords, however, look like clown shoes 🤡
Kind of looks the like puzzle pieces are separate overlayed pieces again— going back to the original construction of the puzzle bag 🙌🏼
That’s exactly what I thought!! And they brought back the feet, looks beautiful! Seems like they already listened to the unhappy customers?
Jonathan Anderson has done it again. Unite the craftsmanship and roots of the brand with the modernity of its designs. The Madrid bag is a dream, and more for a born in that wonderful city that also combines the old with the modern. And I perceive that it is a very versatile bag that could be carried in multiple ways such as the Puzzle or the Hammock.
I like the army green & burgundy(?) bags. To me, they exude elegant simplicity.
Kaitlin: Do you know the price of the Madrid’s? Thx.
Pricing will come out early next year when the bag launches, we’ll update then!
Hmmm, interested to see more of the small Madrid, what I can see I like it.
Omg that burgundy moc croc clutch!!! Loves it
I love the new bag😍
I love the new bag and the slouched puzzle bag
Yes the new Puzzle bag is slouchier than other models by the napa leather. Smoother and softer.
the new versions of the puzzle are incredible
