Chanel’s Metiers d’Art collection is one of the most anticipated from the House. It is typically more intricate than the rest of the year’s collections, offering unique details and artisanship that show off the incredible skill of Chanel’s craftspeople. Still, under the design direction of Virginie Viard, most of the bags offered are incredibly wearable, and this year’s Metiers d’Art is no different.
The 2024 presentation took Chanel to Manchester, tapping into the city’s appreciation for music, avant-garde fashion, and pop culture and connecting it with Chanel’s artisans back in Paris. A true marrying of the minds, this collection embraces the creativity that comes from collaboration, showcasing a bold palette of apple green, raspberry, apricot bright pink, and more.
There are a variety of bags that are sure to entice fans. From stunning ombre iterations of the 11.12 to Mini Flaps in tweed and sequin, the classics are given new life. New shapes are given similar treatments, and even though this collection is mostly wearable, there are a couple of novelty bags, like an adorable Tea Box Minaudiére, for the collectors among us.

Someone please summon Karl back from the grave. Too many of these give credence to the perspective that the brand is increasingly looking dated and irrelevant. I’m not excited for these at all.
Totally agree. No turning (in your grave) Karl
The waist bag (aka bum bag) is simply awful, IMO. Tacky and not even close to being worth its nearly 5k price tag. Wish Chanel would bring back its classic camera bag. Now that is a bag I’d pay for.
Just no, bags looking old and dated. Minaudieres are beautiful if you collect them as art. I’m glad I collected my Chanel when Karl was still there 10-15 years ago.
They are just magical! So beautiful! Every gal will want one, especially my two granddaughters.
Thanks for sharing.
Best,
Sue
