Chanel Métiers d’Art continues to be one of the brand’s most anticipated collections of the year, and this year is especially poignant as it marks Matthieu Blazy’s pre-fall debut. While the collection typically hits stores in June, Chanel fans are in for a treat this year, as it arrives in select boutiques today, May 27, and we’ve got the scoop!

Back in December, Matthieu Blazy took Chanel to the New York City subway, presenting a jaw-dropping collection full of artful details, bold colors, intricate embroidery, and more. It was everything you would expect from a Métiers d’Art collection—and then some.

Today, as the collection arrives in select boutiques, we’re celebrating with a look at the Chanel Métiers d’Art 2026 campaign, which, like the runway show, is a celebration of New York’s unmatched vibrancy and the eclectic personalities that make up the city.

Inside Chanel’s New York-Inspired Métiers d’Art Campaign

Shot by photographer Craig McDean in New York, the campaign captures the essence of the city by bringing together many different interpretations of the Chanel woman.

These personalities are distinguished by the pieces they wear—a quarter-zip and denim traverse the subway, while elevated eveningwear appears outside a diner, evoking New York night owls stopping for a late-night bite after a grand evening out.

A Closer Look at Chanel Métiers d’Art 2026’s Standout Bags

Throughout the campaign, memorable moments are juxtaposed with mundane snippets of everyday life. Chanel’s House codes are woven throughout, while a new take on the iconic Chanel suit and a slouchy, relaxed Maxi Flap in bold leopard make striking statements. Elsewhere, the bags offer playful touches.

New cornerstone designs emerge alongside a range of embossed leather exotics, novelty bags, and more. Discover some of our favorite bags in the gallery above and view more from the campaign below and via Chanel.com now.

As the owner of 8 Chanel bags plus more Chanel (and Hermes…and Gucci…and you get the idea), this is not working for me. As a fashion creative this is not working for me. The subway shot with the brown suede bag is giving J.Crew. The whole shoot (product, styling and creative direction) is extremely derivative and done to death. These girls clearly can’t afford Chanel and they don’t understand Chanel. Barefoot on a taxi? Just no…it’s not like the paint job was that precious. Red balloons? Animal prints? Coco would cringe. Let’s get back to the core essence of Chanel. Black, white, beige and maroon with a little hardware and tweed here and there.

yea I think you might wanna look for “Wenwen Stokes Chanel” on youtube to see a collector who definitely owns a plethora of Chanel bags and mostly being the eclectic ones (and crazy amount of RTW from Vuitton, Fendi, etc).

She’s no longer active on youtube but her style today is still as eclectic as rainbow. It’s all about personal style. Try checking her old styling vlogs & even if her style is not your cup of tea, it might help you expand your horizon beyond the black/ white/ beige and how she wears all her rare Chanel pieces

Yeah, say you aren’t from NYC without saying you’re not from NYC. Taking the subway is what just about every New Yorker does, and yes, many of them wear Chanel. Also, Coco was a trailblazer with her designs in her time so I think she would appreciate Blazy’s takes on her and Lagerfeld’s designs. In fact, I would go so far to say Blazy has done more to embrace classic Chanel essence in his designs than previous head designers in the last several years.

You seem to be focused on the shoot, rarely can a model afford the items she’s working to sell. That’s nothing new. Yet no comment on the creativity of the design which is what the ad is about. I’m curious why you want to keep Chanel in black, white, beige, and maroon. You have eight Chanel bags plus “more Chanel”. I would think you of all people would embrace adding some color to your wardrobe instead of buying the same thing over and over again.

What a beautiful collection! Every piece is so unique and clever. I can only adapt handbags or accessories or shoes to my lifestyle, but the clothes sure are fun to look at!

I like this so much more upon seeing the campaign than I first did at the show, actually. That “tonight or never” all-over sequin bag is living in my mind (100% not my style, but my my, I love it!)
