Every December, Chanel introduces its Métiers d’Art collection, paying homage to the expertise and craftsmanship of French luxury. Continuing the ongoing creative dialogue between Virginie Viard and Chanel artisans, the brand just presented its Métiers d’Art 2024 show in Manchester.
Collaboration and creativity are at the heart of every Chanel Métiers d’Art collection, and this year is no different, connecting the ateliers at Rue Cambon and the Maisons d’Art at le19M with friends of the house and the city of Manchester.
A buzzy destination for pop culture and avant-garde fashion with storied musical roots, Manchester was the perfect destination for the creativity that comes with Métiers d’Art. The show, which took place on an emblematic street in the city, presented a shimmering palette with pops of color.
Ready-to-wear encompasses the diverse array of Chanel’s House codes, like tailoring and tweed, quilted leather, and more. Vibrant shades of apple green, raspberry, and apricot are presented on silhouettes with a uniquely British flair.
The Bags of Chanel Métiers d’Art 2024
As for the bags, there are takes on brand signatures in bold colors and novelty fabrics. New iterations of both the Classic Flap and Wallet on Chain appear in fun colors, embellished tweed, and more. A variety of clutches, both classic and novelty, were seen throughout as well.
Overall, bags are wearable but fun, a true collector’s dream. View bags from the runway below, images courtesy of Chanel.
I’ll take the briefcase in black or a bright yellow color if that’s an option. Their things look good, it’s the quality that’s lacking for some time now sadly.
I love the quilted coat and skirt set! I bet it’s stupid expensive, but it’s SO pretty
I love the black and white coat with the belt and almost an Hermés mini kelly looking bag!
This is definitely more like the true Chanel *clap*
I do like the pink clutch and while Idk the price I can expect that it is stupid, crazy expensive.
