It Was All About Quilting, Top Handles and Oversized Clutches On the Fall 2020 Runways

A look at what's to come from your favorite designers later this year

When Bottega Veneta’s ‘The Pouch’ took the fashion world by storm earlier last year, even we couldn’t have predicted the hype that was to come! The bag has been seen on countless influential fashion icons from celebrities and editors to social media starlets. There’s no denying the relevance of 2019’s biggest it-item, and a few seasons after its release, it still seems to be an influential piece. Designers like Givenchy, Prada and Alexander MqQueen have bet big on the continuing trend, introducing consumers to new oversized clutches for fall 2020.

Other handbag elements were also present at our favorite designer’s runway shows like quilting— both puffy and classic—as well as hand carried bags with top handles. Some designers showcased multiple trends in one silhouette, like at Valentino where models tucked quilted, puffy leather clutches under their arms or at Miu Miu, where framed top handle bags were shown in plush pillowy leathers. View more from the fall 2020 runways below and let us know which bags you’re most intrigued to rock for fall.
