Marc Jacobs has been a long time favorite designer of mine. I love the brand’s edgy, urban aesthetic and the man behind them. When it was announced that the brand was folding the Marc by Marc Jacobs line into the Marc Jacobs collection, I was surprised to say the least. Having owned bags from both collections, I was disappointed to see the MbyMJ line disappear, as there was a pretty stark difference in price points between the two lines. I was concerned about what this meant for my ability to access the brand. Were all the bags going to be sold at a premier handbag price point?
Around the time that MbyMJ was discontinued, Marc Jacobs pretty much dropped off my radar. For as long as I could remember, the brand had consistently churned out bags that I admired and often purchased, and for a long time held the title of my favorite designer. Over the last few years, I took what I deem an unofficial MJ hiatus, and I stopped buying from the brand altogether.
When Marc Jacobs reinvented his brand with the launch of the Double J logo, I was unsure of how I felt about it. I have to admit it took some time for me to warm up to it, but now I am basically obsessed with so many Marc Jacobs bags, especially this Fall. Marc Jacobs is still producing effortlessly cool bags with unique, stylish details—hi, button studs! I am happy to say the bags are around the same price point as the Marc by Marc Jacobs line, so I can buy a few! I have been closely following Marc Jacobs for years, and couldn’t be more thrilled to be coveting his bags again.
Below are the top bags that I need to have. I already sent my husband a few from the list below for holiday gift ideas.
Hmmmm. Nice price points, to be sure.
I’ve been eyeing the snapshot. It comes in so many pretty colors.
What’s the circle logo supposed to be? 2 Js that form a circle?
I had no idea that was supposed to be two J’s for months i have been trying to figure out why there was and oval on that bag ?
Yup! “J” for Jacobs.
The first one (Softshot 21) looks really cute.
I think that one is my favorite of them all!
Love that color combo and wide strap on the Softshot 21. I have the Recruit double zip with a strap in that width and it is so comfortable for travel!
Thank you for featuring his brand. I’ve always been his fan (The Stella is my first major designer bag) and was sad when the drastic change happened. I try to keep my eyes on his brand, but it’s so hard coz they were pulled out of my country altogether. I like that box bag. ?
I’m sooo Off of Marc Jacobs.
Handbags were amazing in the early 2000s.
Now I don’t give them a second glance .
They can all stay where they are, adorning the handbag section of Nordstrom Rack.
I really liked MBMJ. I don’t like any of these new bags
