The year was 2007. I spent my summer working at my local mall’s Abercrombie Kids store and anxiously awaiting the release of the seventh and final installment of the Harry Potter series. I had outgrown much of the nerdiness of my younger years, but my love for lining up outside of Barnes & Noble at midnight remained.
Yet I wasn’t dressed in a black Hogwarts cape carrying a wand. Instead, I was likely wearing the bright orange terrycloth Juicy Couture track pants I wore on repeat with a white baby tee and Sam Edelman gladiator sandals. I also probably reeked of one-too-many sprays of Marc Jacobs Daisy.
The Scent of a Generation
If you came of age in the 2000s and were in college or high school like me in the late 2000s, then it’s more than likely that Marc Jacobs’ Daisy Fragrance also had a chokehold on you. Released in 2007, Marc Jacobs Daisy Fragrance was the one that changed it all for me.

It was my first designer fragrance, the first scent I wore that didn’t also come as a hand soap, body lotion, body wash, or wall plug-in. It was then that I fell in love with the idea of a signature scent. Perfume, to me, became routine, like deodorant or the gold studs you wear every day. It was something I put on daily, regardless of where I was going or what I was doing.
Still, to this day, perfume is that for me. Certain scents make me so nostalgic for the specific times in my life when I wore them, and that’s what keeps me so enamored with fragrances, well beyond the simple act of smelling good.
When it comes to the scent of Marc Jacobs Daisy, I am instantly—and I mean instantly—transported back to my late teens and early twenties. When I saw the newest iteration of the Marc Jacobs Dual bag, I felt that same familiar pang of nostalgia.
A Look at the Marc Jacobs Daisy Dual Bag
While the scent itself brings back major memories, its bottle, too, was so distinct, featuring oversized daisy appliques on the bottle’s cap. For Spring 2025, undeniably inspired by the Daisy Perfume, Marc Jacobs has outfitted its fan-favorite Dual bag with all-over floral appliques that are so reminiscent of the original bottle.

We loved the Dual bag’s effortlessly cool, downtown aesthetic from its debut. It is just SO Marc Jacobs. The daisy cut-outs add a hint of nostalgia and a bit of brand heritage, as the daisy has become one of the brand’s signature motifs. Perfect for the warm weather that will soon be upon us, I simply must have it!

Ah this is so fun and different
Giving Coach vibes…although much more overdone.
It’s really cute and different enough to stand out.
Love this, so fun! The fragrance is still fresh and youthful!
If the bag didn‘t have those petals, I‘d consider getting one.
