One of the biggest trends of 2024, and also one of the first, remains to be leopard print. Tied to the mob-wife aesthetic that burst onto our social media feeds earlier this year, the playful print’s popularity shows absolutely no signs of slowing down.
If you thought leopard would be a one-season wonder, you were wrong. It continues to make waves across multiple categories and price points alike. In fact, when we first reported on the trend earlier this year, there were some solid options when it came to luxury leopard bags, but not nearly to the degree that they exist now.
As we head into winter, holiday and resort collections are dropping, and new options are entering the scene. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Louis Vuitton hopped on the trend, and if these bags aren’t fit for Carmela Soprano (sorry, we had to), we’re not sure what is!
Leopard is for LVers
As part of its Cruise 2025 collection, Louis Vuitton introduces a selection of leopard bags inspired by Nicolas Ghesquière’s Fall 2016 collection. These are not your average leopard bags. Ghesquière has taken iconic shapes and given them a truly spectacular spin. The Slim Trunk, Petite Malle, and Capucines Mini are dressed in a bold leopard print.
Each bag is crafted from leather (calfskin or lambskin) and then adorned with thousands of Swarovski crystals to create a leopard pattern. Each design finished with this technique is truly spectacular and is one that any bold Louis Vuitton collector would be delighted to have in their collection.
The Petite Malle holds special significance as it was one of Nicolas Ghesquière’s first designs for the Maison. The little trunk’s iconic details, like its S-lock clasp and miniaturized trunk-inspired details, combined with its exquisite embellishments, make it a true collector’s item, symbolizing Louis Vuitton’s heritage and craftsmanship.
Prices are $7,650 for the Slim Trunk, $9,000 for the Petite Malle, and $9,400 for the Capucines Mini.
Too high priced and not too attractive.
Totally agree.
I’m glad the Cannes is back but not thrilled about that print.
Love the combination of the monogram print with the leopard! And I’m loving all the recent trunk-inspired designs, harking back to the origins of the brand. Unfortunately it’s probably all out of my price range 😢😂
