Like most of us who love fashion, I could rattle off a laundry list of things I’m lusting after at any given moment. Still, a few years ago, I committed to shopping more mindfully.
For starters, I wanted to stop overspending and putting things on my credit card that I couldn’t pay off right away (check), and I also wanted to purchase things that I only truly loved, not just sort of liked.
Changing my habits has been difficult, yes (no, you don’t need a new outfit for every night out), but it’s also been so rewarding. I buy way less, typically shopping for vintage items or high-quality luxury items—I don’t feel guilty about anything that I buy anymore, and that’s been the biggest thing.
That said, while we talk so often about things that we want, we sometimes neglect to praise the things that we have and love—so today I’m here to do just that.
The Savette Symmetry Pochette: A Must-Have Luxury Bag
Late last year, Luisaviaroma invited us in to visit their new store, graciously giving me a gift card so that I could shop and get the full in-person LVR experience. Of course, I gravitated towards the bags and decided to get a bag I’d been eyeing for a long time—the Savette Symmetry Pochette.
The Symmetry Pochette is a staple of the brand, featuring the distinct Symmetry turn-lock, which feels jewelry-like and is inspired by sculptures seen in modern art. An icon for the brand (and a Q4 best-seller), its clean, geometrical lines come together to form a chic, pared-back top-handle bag that is simple yet undeniably elegant.
The bag’s classic shape is distinctly feminine, and to put it simply, I absolutely adore this bag! The color I chose is a beautiful, brownish-olive hue called mink, and it pairs well with both brown and black, which has led to it getting a lot of use!
Styling the Savette Symmetry Pochette for Day and Night
I only packed 5 bags with me for two months in Paris (shocker, I know!), and this bag made the cut—a testament to how much use it’s gotten in the last year. Truthfully, more than I would have guessed when I first got it.
While the silhouette lends itself better to dinners or nights out, I’ve also worn it during the day to instantly elevate my outfit. Do I need this bag in a pop color? No. But do I want another one in another color? Yes.
The Savette Symmetry Pochette: What Fits?
With overall dimensions of 5.1″ H x 8.7″ L x 2″ D, the interior is small, as to be expected, but its gusseted sides do allow for a fair amount of items. I carry: a card case (full of cards and cash), mints, a Rhode lip gloss, and my iPhone. You could use the interior card slot for cards or cash to save room for a makeup palette or other items.

I love this idea! As much fun as it is to oogle new bags (and it IS fun), the bags in our closets deserve love too! The Symmetry is BEAUTIFUL. Such a classic design. There’s an impressive array of colors too.. the poppy red suede is a show stopper!!
