Gucci’s new Creative Director, Sabato de Sarno, will present his first collection at MFW in September. Until then, Gucci’s in-house design team continues to explore the House’s most historical codes. For Cruise 2024, these archival elements are presented through a creative dialogue with South Korea, which was home to the Cruise 2024 show. Taking place in the ceremonial courtyard of the 14th-century Gyeongbokgung Palace, the collection reflects a global community. Described as an illustration of multicultural fashion manifestations, the collection is tied together by how various creative individuals see Gucci through their lens.
’90s Era Gucci is Back
An unmistakable ode to 1990s Gucci, the Cruise 2024 collection is a continuation of the shapes and silhouettes shown for Fall, but in a color palette that is meant to be reminiscent of the 2010s. Generational House signifiers combine to feel modern and fresh, with upscale pieces acting as everyday streetwear. A silk blouse, a kitten heel, and a crystal evening bag all transformed to represent everyday life in Seoul.
The Bags of Gucci Cruise 2024
As for the bags, the Horsebit is the most important House motif this season, appearing on the archival revival from Tom Ford’s Gucci that was presented last season, alongside new shapes. Gucci Horsebit Chain bags appear warped, showcased in asymmetrical shapes with new proportions. As for the latest archival silhouette? An elegant and ultra-ladylike envelope flap bag with an oversized Horsebit detail appears throughout in neutrals and bold hues like yellow and red. A vibrant hub for fashion and culture nods to South Korea are present throughout the collection, helping to celebrate a place that has inspired Gucci since its connection to the country began when its Seoul Flagship Store opened 25 years ago.

There is nothing exciting here and I would personally only look at the backpack. The uneven 1955 bag is terrible, other shapes and patterns look more like another label – Givenchy? What a mistake to let AM go…
These bags are a mess.
I don’t like these, personally.
I only like the classic 1955 Horsebit bag.
Your Right
Not too bad, fun even, I actually like the asymmetric 1955! But then I do have a preference for the unusual. They’re really pushing that horsebit baguette.. :-\
I’m totally in love with the asymmetrical bags!!!!
what a great designs
Watching the show in its entirety I really like some of the clothing and the sock ish flat boot is amazing, the bags not as much.
That backpack is garbage
I love them! my favorite is the horsebit “tote” with the tortoise handle. WONDERFUL! I love it both with the blue and with the neon yellow. Second favorite is the xl horsehoe clutch, especially with the neon but also in that mermaid glowing turquoise.
Haven’t been so excited for Gucci in years!!
