We reported last year that Louis Vuitton and Gucci were leading a monogram comeback, and that continues to be the case. Gucci is probably one of the hottest handbag brands at the moment, with everyone carrying and wearing the brand (including Lady Gaga during her amazing Super Bowl opening with the national anthem).
I love what Alessandro Michele is creating and the way he’s made the brand incredibly buzz worthy again. He believes in the monogram print of the house and there are so many bags that are coming out with varying prints and embellishments. While the Gucci Dionysus is still probably my favorite Gucci bag at the moment, there are so many others that are just as lust-worthy.
I love the whimsical print on this Gucci Padlock Shoulder Bag. Featuring birds and flower blossoms, this pattern was inspired by Chinese landscapes on 18th century tapestries and screens. While majority of the bag is coated canvas, there’s a paneled chocolate pocket on the back of the bag and leather on both sides of the bag. The interior is lined in suede and the gold chain shoulder strap can be doubled to create a shorter drop. This bag is unique and intriguing, which is just they way I like it.
