Last September, Fendi introduced its spring/summer 2020 collection at Milan Fashion Week, and while the bags overall possessed a beautiful, warm weather appeal, there was one unique material that stood out from the rest. Terrycloth appeared throughout the collection, popping up on cosmetic pouches, totes and Baguette bags too. While a terrycloth bag is pool-worthy cool, Fendi has now taken the terrycloth tote one step further. Add this to the list of things designers make that we never knew we needed. Introducing: the Fendi Convertible Terry Towel Tote. Yes, you read that correctly, Fendi is now making a tote that doubles as a beach towel and I am here for it.
Growing up on Long Island, in a suburban town less than an hour outside of New York City, summers as a kid meant one thing: the beach. My mom and my aunt would pack all of the kids up with a car full of goods almost everyday. When I became old enough to pack my own beach bag, I realized how annoying packing for the beach actually is, which is why I’m completely obsessed with this over-the-top expensive Fendi Terrycloth Tote that doubles as a beach bag.
This all in one tote/towel combo is pricey but practical, and if you love fashion and are able to splurge, why not? While I’d love to see this hybrid towel/tote to see how it actually packs up and how much room is leftover when the bag is folded into a tote, its description champions this double duty bag as a ‘spacious tote’ which is finished with an easy over-the-shoulder handle.
This bag has me dreaming of long summer days, boat trips, and Caribbean vacations. I’d pair this with a swimsuit (of course), most likely a black one-piece with an easy white maxi-dress cover up, Birkenstock sandals and a straw hat. Though pining for things and experiences maybe be a bit sad right now, it gives me a nostalgic sense of normalcy and I am seriously obsessed with this, admittedly over-the-top, tote.

What do you carry the wet towel bag home in?
I’m guessing the towel bag is like a lounge accessory while on your yacht or poolside at a resort. Otherwise, you’re right, the towel can’t turn back into your bag well!
And where do you put your stuff in while you’re lying on the towel? There’s sunblock, phone, keys, maybe a wallet/card holder, book etc. You need to have a bag in the towel bag to keep your things. 😀
