While May 1st feels like the unofficial start to summer, the ‘official’ start to summer comes at the end of the month here in the US, and that’s Memorial Day, which is only a week away. You know what that means… those of you that still follow fashion rules can break out all of your white bags now that the official start to summer is here. While I admit that I’ve been breaking this rule for quite a long time, I definitely am more inclined to don a head-to-toe white outfit and purchase new white goodies when the temps warm up.
SUMMER WHITES
Earlier this year, I added a white Prada Cleo to my collection, and it’s been a go-to for me ever since. It’s sneakily versatile, and I can dress it up or down more than I thought possible. Despite its small size, I get more use out of it than I originally thought. You’re in luck if you have yet to add a white bag to your collection. While I can attest to the Prada Cleo being a great choice, this season, there are so many beautiful white bags to pick from, and we’ve got over a dozen of the best that you can wear now, and beyond if you’re a rule breaker like me!
Just SO difficult to justify those prices on a white bag. they pick up the color of whatever you’re wearing (jeans typically) and it stains. And you can’t ever place them on any surface you’re even remotely unsure of its cleanliness….
Ive never experienced color transfer on my bags but then again i dont have a white bag and i dont wear jeans too (i love dresses and leggings). I need one but yes it is difficult to justify the price tag and add to that im clumsy on some days so its too much of a worry for me. I remember 10yrs ago i had a D&B bag a gift from my aunt its a messenger crossbody bag with a beige flap and bee monogram print on the body. I spilled water on the flap (just a drop) and it left a big circle. I was so sad. Ive also read that white bags turn yellowish with age (similar to the hermes ombre lizard leather).
Those prices are all over the place from bag to bag. Makes so little sense based on the craftsmanship and quality of some of the bags vs. others.
