The fun side of fashion is making a comeback—hallelujah!
The bright, bold hues of the early 2020s may have taken a backseat to the quiet luxury movement, but as the old-money aesthetic begins to decline and maximalism rises, color is making a return—and we’re having trouble containing our excitement!
The Fall 2026 runways were full of handbag trends, but now that the season’s new arrivals have slowly begun to trickle in and we have a broader look at the new bags—and more—we’re revisiting some of the biggest color trends spotted throughout the season.
Soft Pink
The Spring 2026 season finally gave us a sign that the end of quiet luxury is near, and one of the biggest color trends we saw was soft blush and ballet pink—a great way to ease back into color! The girly hue will continue into the fall season, appearing on the runways of Chanel, Sandy Liang, Chloé, and more. This season’s newest collections are quickly proving that pretty pink is here to stay. Opt for a suede bag like the Khaite Simona for a more seasonal feel.
Bold Red
Just like pink, red came in hot this spring, hinting at a return to maximalism—and we’re here for the transition. Red is one of those colors that never truly goes out of style, but there’s no denying its overarching popularity this year, proving its power yet again. The fiery hue appeared time and time again during Fall 2026 fashion month on the runways of Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Celine, Chloé, Givenchy, and more.
Deep Eggplant
Purple is having its moment—and while, like red, royal purple ready-to-wear was seen on runway after runway, when it comes to handbags, deep eggplant will carry the purple family this season. A dark, moody shade with deep, rich tones, eggplant is the perfect alternative to black, pairing well with much of what’s already in your closet while adding an unexpected pop of color.
Mustard Yellow
Mustard is getting a rebrand, and we’re locked in. The warm hue adds an earthy yet retro vibe to your wardrobe. It’s a bold, unexpected choice that signals an air of confidence we can get behind. Prada’s Wish Silk Pouch is one of the chicest ways to embrace the warmth of saffron, a sunbaked shade that quietly popped up this season at Loewe, Valentino, Dior, Hermès, and more.
