Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez Bring a Touch of Whimsy to Loewe’s Storied Craft for Fall 2026

And bags both new and old see bold updates this season.

LOEWE FALL 2026 18

For their debut Spring 2026 collection, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez sought to breathe new life into Loewe’s distinct brand DNA. Rather than a complete overhaul, the design duo chose to meld Loewe’s Spanish identity with their own design aesthetic, and their sophomore collection further cements this new era for Loewe.

McCollough and Hernandez Continue to Shape Loewe’s New Era

What began last season as a study of craft evolves into what exactly goes into that craft, and how, at the core, to create is to express joy.

That sentiment came to life on Friday in Paris when Loewe presented its Fall 2026 collection, and it was immediately apparent from the moment guests entered the show space that it would be a playful delight. Oversized stuffed animal “guests” lined the front row of the bright yellow venue, which set the tone for the collection.

Classic Craft Meets Bold Experimentation

Ready-to-wear melds bold experimentalism with iconic Loewe craft. Slip dresses that mimic pointelle knits are actually made of latex, while statement coats employ intricate techniques to create bold textures and tactile silhouettes.

Texture and volume were at play throughout, in both expected and non-traditional ways. Shearling outerwear gave way to puffed-up parkas, which mimicked the inflatable invitation guests received earlier in the week. Elsewhere, traditional tailoring gave way to shearling dresses and skirts with asymmetrical trains.

Like last season, the color palette is bright, bold, and undeniably fun—and this extended to the bags as well. The reimagined Amazona, dubbed the Amazona 180 for the House’s 180th anniversary, appeared in soft neutral leathers, eye-catching embossed croc, and bicolor versions that, when worn open, reveal a bright interior. Elsewhere, they were seen dressed in fur with leather accents.

The Bags of Loewe Fall 2026

Those same bicolor bags were paired with playful dog and crab charms inspired by the work of artist Cosima von Bonin, whose signature animals were the aforementioned show attendees. Icons like the Flamenco and Puzzle bags are refreshed this season as well, in bold prints and textures, while an angular, top-zipped dual-handle bag adds a hint of newness.

And for me too.

I still don’t know the name of the new bag. But I think it’s a very good bet. It is different and functional. It also follows the current trend of single-handled bags but they do not lose their shape or function.

Not a fan of the gaping bag style seems like a silly fad

That open bag design looks like a face going DX Or like a frog throwing up LOL I honestly hate the idea of the unbalanced single-strap bag that looks like it should have two handles. If it had one other handle that I could at least optionally use, that would be better imo.

I like the colors, black with the blue lining, for example, and the jewel toned greens and purples. Just not the asymmetrical design. It looks like it would be SO easy for a thief to reach their hand in there and grab your stuff.
