In case you missed it, fashion’s main event—the 2026 Met Gala—took place yesterday, bringing an influx of celebrities to New York City. In the days leading up to the event (and on the day itself), uptown is abuzz with stars coming and going. Once the Gala comes to a close, however, downtown becomes the place to see and be seen for post-Gala partying.
This year’s star-studded event celebrated the Met’s new exhibition, the inaugural show in its permanent gallery, Costume Art. Guests were encouraged to follow the “Fashion Is Art” dress code, focusing on the art of clothing the body—an art form that has existed for over 5,000 years.
Over the years, more stars have opted to leave their clutches and mini bags behind (or at least with their assistants), choosing instead to go bagless on the Met steps. Still, there are always a few standout bag moments to behold, and this year was no exception.
As expected, celebrities attended fittings, the main event, and after-parties that lasted until sunrise—all while carrying their favorite designer bags. Let’s take a look.
Jennie
Before walking the Met Gala carpet in Chanel, BLACKPINK’s Jennie ran some last-minute errands with Matthieu Blazy’s latest Maxi 2.55 in hand.
Claire Foy
Ahead of the main event, Claire Foy was seen leaving her hotel with the latest from Bottega Veneta and Louise Trotter, the Veneta Bag.
Doja Cat
2026 Met Gala Co-Chair Doja Cat arrived at her hotel in a baby-pink sweat set, a stark contrast to the Saint Laurent latex gown she would wear on the carpet. The “Paint The Town Red” singer kept it playful with an LV x TM Keepall.
Zoë Kravitz
A newly engaged Zoë Kravitz stopped by Anna Wintour’s pre-Met Gala gathering with a soft suede Saint Laurent clutch.
Sarah Pidgeon
Breakout style star of the year, Sarah Pidgeon, wore everyone’s favorite new bag, the Amazona 180, for a day of running around the city over the weekend. Pidgeon, who made her Met Gala debut yesterday, wore custom LOEWE by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez to the main event.
Margot Robbie
Chanel Girl Margot Robbie kept it low-key but ultra-chic over the weekend as she headed to and from Met Gala fittings. She carried a sleek, slim Chanel hobo that paired perfectly with her Fall 2026 collection shoes, which are sure to top everyone’s wishlist!

Daisy Edgar-Jones
No stranger to the madness of the Met Gala, Daisy Edgar-Jones was all smiles over the weekend as she traipsed around the Upper East Side with a Loewe Amazona 180.
Sutton Foster
Sutton Foster made her romance with Hugh Jackman official at the Met Gala on Monday. She wore a Monse Dress and carried a crystal Judith Leiber clutch.
Tyriq Withers
Tell Me Lies star Tyriq Withers wore a full Louis Vuitton look to the 2026 Met Gala, wowing on the carpet for his debut. A custom mini metal trunk, inspired by Louis Vuitton’s distinct heritage, was the finishing touch to his crystalized overcoat, black silk organza shirt, and wool trousers.
Paige Bueckers
WNBA’s Paige Bueckers, who also happens to be a Coach Ambassador, wore a custom Coach look by Stuart Vevers to the 2026 Met Gala. Her look, which reinterprets the 1940’s tailoring seen on the Fall 2026 runway, was hand-painted to mimic the places an artist might naturally wipe their hands or absentmindedly stroke a brush, and was further emphasized with crystals. The look was completed with a matching Tabby 20.
A$AP Rocky
Chanel Ambassador A$AP Rocky wore a Chanel wool pink robe with piped black detailing and a black silk-and-feather camélia flower at the Met Gala. Of course, his look would not be fully complete without Chanel accessories, most notably his apple clutch, fresh from the Fall 2026 runway.
Joey King
It’s Miu Miu’s world, and we’re just living in it! Joey King, who wore a custom Miu Miu look inspired by the brand’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection, was spotted inside the Gala with a brand icon in hand—the Miu Miu Arcadie.
Gigi Hadid
Gigi Hadid’s eye-catching Met Gala gown was a beautiful collaboration between the supermodel and Miu Miu. The look, which melded themes from Miu Miu’s Spring 1998 and Spring 2011 collections, was completed just days before the Met Gala with hand-applied patches. Hadid shared BTS snaps with Vogue, which included a crystalized version of the Wander bag.
Lisa
The White Lotus‘ Lisa was all smiles while inside the Gala, posing with a Judith Leiber clutch.
Isla Johnston
Isla Johnston was caught post-Met leaving the Surrey Hotel. She wore a look from Loewe’s Fall 2026 collection paired with a sleek Loewe Minaudiere.
Margot Robbie
Saint Laurent’s Met Gala After Party, hosted by Anthony Vaccarello at New York hot spot People’s, was the place to be. Our favorite Chanel girl, Margot Robbie, stopped by in jeans, a Chanel chain-mail jacket, and a bold red Chanel clutch. This is our kind of after-party look!
Ayo Edebiri
Ayo Edebiri also swung by the Saint Laurent Party at People’s with a Chanel bag in hand. This time, it was the most-wanted Mini 25.
Maude Apatow
Euphoria’s Maude Apatow headed downtown to make an appearance at People’s too. She kept it ultra lady-like and chic in a simple white mini dress with embellished sleeves, which nicely paired back to her Valentino DeVain bag.

What is the name of the red bag that the lady in the picture with Lisa is wearing?
That’s Chase Infiniti, her dress was Thom Browne so maybe it’s this one? https://editorialist.com/p/thom-browne-metal-handle-mini-bag/
That “Lady” is Chase Infiniti and I’m somewhat stunned why she’s not properly identified! Wearing a beautiful Thom Brown gown. 🙌🏻
And that would be a Thom Brown bag as well.
Uh, the Veneta isn’t a new bag. This version looks a little puffier than older ones, and the color is lovely, but why are you flagging it as new?
