Louis Vuitton’s classic Alma bag is one of the brand’s (and the handbag world’s) most iconic silhouettes. Rooted in House history, its shape can be traced back to the end of the 19th century, though the Alma as we know it today debuted in 1992. Its shape still bears homage to hints of its Art Deco roots, standing out for its unique combination of elegance and character.

Though the Alma originally made its debut in classic Monogram canvas, it has been reinterpreted time and time again, in every rainbow shade of Épi leather, Monogram Vernis and more. It’s even seen a slew of limited edition iterations including the cult favorite graffiti of Stephen Sprouse and one of the 2000s most iconic It-Bags seen on Paris Hilton, Kim K and more as you’ll see below. Today we’re throwing it back to an icon of both then and now, with a look back at the many celebs who love(d) the Alma!

The epitome of a 2000s ‘star’. She dated Brody Jenner while he was filming The Hills and made many appearances on the reality show.

Thank you. I’m not sure I would have included her in a celebrity roundup but it’s not my blog so have at it.

Blows my mind that the Paps thought she was worthy of their precious time.

Women should build each other up vs. tearing each other down.

Blake Lively’s wasnt an Alma Vernis. It was an Epi Leather in Menthe or possibly Borneo Green. Based on the year, I am almost sure it was Menthe.

Those are Miroir Almas not Vernis Almas, right?

Yeah, I think it’s Miroir, not Vernis.

Still debating with myself whether i get the alma bb or mini bolide. I love the epi leather or vernis version of the alma bb. Im obsessed with hermes lately and i was never a louis vuitton fan. I remembered 7 yrs ago the epi leather version was only around USD 1500 guess im still punching myself for not buying it then.

I run from epi leather, it ages so terrible (look at Ebay used Epi leather bags and they are all cracked and stained). Vernis also I know has a ton of problems except I just love the smoothness and colors it comes in. I would go with the mini bolide. Its cute but can look very chic and the quality I think is a lot better (but the price isnt!)

Jennifer Love Hewitt’s is the only one I would buy. It’s gorgeous.

That Louis Vuitton Vernis Alma GM ($6,549) must be the most expensive Alma I have seen. I cant imagine plastic vinyl being so expensive! Its like its literally made with gold! At least for that price.
