The Many Bags of Coco Gauff

My kids have shown more interest in tennis recently, so I am also showing more interest in tennis. It’s a sport I’ve always liked, but I don’t follow closely, and I don’t play myself. Nor do I count the time I did a tennis summer camp in which I mostly waited for the pool time, snacks, and just sat in the shade.

This past weekend, we watched the Roland Garros Finals for both men and women, and there was a lot of excitement here. First, what an intensely draining sport – that men’s final between Alcaraz and Sinner was insane to watch, tennis fan or not. Coco Gauff won the women’s final against Aryna Sabalenka, the first time an American had won this title in over a decade. On top of it, she was not considered the winner, and she rallied back and never gave up. It was astounding to watch.

So you know what I thought—what bags is she carrying off the court? Obviously, on court, she is carrying a highly pragmatic tennis bag by one of her sponsors (actually, I only think it is Sinner who has a deal with Gucci and carries a custom Gucci tennis bag to these high-level championships, but correct me if I’m wrong).

The 21-year-old Gauff is currently ranked #2 in women’s singles and is coming off her epic win at Roland Garros. Off the court, Gauff partnered with New Balance x Miu Miu; hence, you’ll see a good amount of Miu Miu in her bag collection.

When she’s not playing, her sporty style continues, but Gauff uses her voice for far more than tennis. Gauff uses her platform to speak out against racial injustice, climate change, and furthering tennis for young children. Cheers to Coco on her epic French Open win and bag style!
