If you’ve closely followed fashion over the last decade or so, you’re no stranger to its favorite game, which we like to call Creative Director musical chairs. There have been major, life-altering, shocking twists of fate and changes—who can forget Hedi Slimane’s 2018 appointment at Celine?
Still, few fashion seasons have been as boundary-breaking and pivotal as the Spring 2026 season, which concluded earlier this month with Paris Fashion Week. Our favorite fashion statistician, @atabutmakeitfashion, said it best: This was probably the most important fashion month of our lifetime.
A Historic Spring 2026 Fashion Season
Chanel, which is largely considered to be the most desired job in fashion, finally filled its empty seat, signaling a historic, pivotal moment for the Maison.
It was in search of its next Karl Lagerfeld, a multifaceted artistic director who would not only revolutionize the brand but also build a long career at its helm. Chanel found that in Matthieu Blazy, whose debut was one of the season’s most talked about.
It wasn’t just Chanel that had pivotal seasons. Significant changes took effect at some of the luxury world’s most historic brands, like Louise Trotter at Bottega Veneta, Jonathan Anderson at Dior, and Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez at Loewe.
Paris Fashion Week was one of the most pivotal weeks of the month, and the best is yet to come as we wait for what was shown on the runway to hit stores early next year.
Dior, Loewe, and the Standout Debuts of the Season
It was a season of thrills, and being able to experience much of it firsthand in Paris means the excitement is tenfold. Personally, I fell in love with Jonathan Anderson’s Dior—but I was always a Loewe girl—and many items (from ready-to-wear to accessories and shoes) have been added to my lust list.
His debut was my favorite of the month by far, but when it came to the bags alone, there was one that gave me the I gotta have it feels—Loewe’s new Amazona 180, which I saw at the brand’s Spring 2026 resee.
Encapsulating everything I love about Loewe: house heritage, expert craft, and a cool-girl ease of wear, I immediately began planning to buy one next year.
Which designer’s debut enthralled you the most? Will you be shopping for a new bag come spring?

My wallet is incredibly safe for the foreseeable future
This article reads confusing; the amazona 180 is the new bag from Jack and Lazaro at Loewe. Being said in the same breath as JWA’s Dior is a bit confusing. I personally don’t like how they slashed the Loewe anagram in half.
I liked JWA Dior’s which isn’t surprising because I loved him at Loewe. While Dior wowed me overall when we are talking just bags it was all about the Loewe Amazona for me. Not confusing 🙂
