I’ve been thinking about the Dolce & Gabbana Miss Escape Tote and Clutch Set for a few days, and I’m still not sure what to make of both the PVC tote-canvas clutch duo and its attendant price tag. $1,895 for either of these pieces on their own would be highway robbery, but together? If you love both of them, maybe I can see it. Maybe. If that amount of money is pocket change for you.
By my estimation, the printed clutch inside the tote is the real draw, and by itself, Dolce & Gabbana would likely charge north of a grand, based on the brand’s pricing for similarly sized pieces in similar materials. That means the PVC tote comes out to around $600-$800, which is ridiculous, objectively, but not really within the context of fashion and how non-leather totes of this size are commonly priced. I could see a Dolce addict picking this duo up and feeling like she made a good buy, but relative to what else can be had for the same amount, I’d tell you to look elsewhere for your next bag(s).
