It’s been nearly two years since Virgil Abloh was appointed creative director for Louis Vuitton Menswear. Abloh’s direction breathed new life into the brand’s men’s collections, shining a bright light on them and attracting attention from both men and women.
Abloh’s creative vision has always been rooted in streetwear, and at a time in fashion when street style ready collections reign supreme, Abloh’s designs have been incredibly well-received.
For Fall-Winter 2020 Abloh took a look at the ever-evolving men’s suit and aimed to challenge traditional dress codes. At the same time, Abloh redefined what the term ‘streetwear’ actually means, characterizing it as ‘ the clothes we actually wear and the way we wear them.’
In terms of bags, and there were many, monogram was at play in this collection, though Abloh chose to challenge the traditional monogram canvas. Updated versions of classic LV monogram appeared in fun ways, such as a constrasing baby blue Keepall as well as giant shearling monogram bags. Additionally, this collection challenged traditional men’s bags, with bright colors like blue and pink appearing alongside more muted neutrals. View all of the bags below.

LOVE
The last bag won me over!
i may be a minority but it looks like they grabbed some chains from Lowes and added them – not a fan of this trash
You’re not the only one. Lazy designs and everything doesn’t match. The one with the cloud looks really childish.
Bag 2 is BEAUTIFUL.
Great job!!
I would love to see more bags in the quilted pattern!
The white tote/carryall in #11 is gorgeous!
That’s my favorite, too! It’s seriously breathtaking. I’d like it even better without the black LV logo. Maybe get rid of it altogether, or have it in white. But that white in white quilting, wow!
Virgil A is a Photocopy Machine and a king Of Copy men!
Bet he copied ideas from @etai.la
I’m not a fan of VA but I enjoyed this show and I think there are a lot of attractive pieces.
I love this collection.
I’m terrified to know what the little charm(?) in pic 4 costs. It’s adorable.
Pink bag in pic. 14 got my heartsss
Why are the men’s bags so much better than women’s bags?! Stunning.
I agree! I don’t typically like LV women’s bags and I love about half of these.
They are really really good bags!
I saw a girl carrying one of his bags and it didn’t look out of place at all
Everything is just gorgeous. Abloh is a true virtuoso. I love all the trunks!
nice
Love them all, finally Louis Vuitton listened and toned it down and gave us tons of practical everyday bags. My favorite is definitely the ‘ombre’ leather keepall, the puff white keepall and the ‘croc’ (?) briefcase/business bag (does that form have an actual name?). Good job.
Yes! That leather keepall is utterly gorgeous. I want it.
I liked these carryalls last year, when @Etai created them. Virgil just copied his homework & changed a few lines to make it seem like it was his work. Worse yet, no one is talking about it. Really Innovative!
Etai just uses LV towels and uses existing LV shapes. He didn’t invent anything…
Most of these bags are completely androgynous! Would carry pretty much ANY of them. Surprised me!
YAS!! Duffels, duffels and more LV duffels. Love it.
This is a beautiful collection overall
I just can’t stand these designs. Sorry but the designs are so lazy! 🙁
