The hottest thing in Paris this week, aside from the weather, was the countless iterations of the Louis Vuitton Speedy. Pharrell’s time at the helm of Louis Vuitton has proven the Speedy to be a modern-day classic, with his own versions including the coveted all-leather Speedy P9.
Outside of his Louis Vuitton Spring 2027 show, the arrivals came carrying Speedy bags. All kinds of them. Classics, P9s, limited edition seasonal variations, charms, and a splattering of other Louis Vuitton bags.
I am also here to tell you that you should own a Speedy, be it the original or the rare; this bag has stood the test of handbag time. And one of the main reasons I love that Louis Vuitton continues to add this bag to its collections is the widening styles and variations, all while remaining easily recognizable. It is a feat to accomplish, one that makes an old design feel refreshed again and again, and under Pharrell’s creative direction, this has only grown stronger.
Of course, we saw other bags as well, but I had to keep this Speedy focused, because that is what we saw. And you know what, I’m not mad at it. In fact, I simply wish I had snapped up more myself.
Street Style Staple: The Louis Vuitton Speedy

Is it really street style if all the pictures are from the LV show in Paris? This is a genuine question because I am not sure that I understand what street style is.
Not true street style, you are right! It’s fashion week street style, which is completely different for so many reasons!
but these photos are taken right outside the LV show, I’m sure LV gifted the bags to most of the celebrities
Yes, they are not necessarily gifted, but they are often dressed by the brand and have fittings with it. I still love to see what they choose to wear and how it looks on them, but it can’t be called true street style for that reason.
I think the Speedy is one of the iconic bags…always relevant.
Celebrities with free gifts. Not really inspiring and fact I really don’t see guys carrying Speedy in real life.
Given the price of the Speedy P9, that’s not surprising. I have seen many guys carrying the Keepall 25 and 35 (various versions). Personally, I find the classic Speedy is too feminine (hardware, size of toron handles, and width of strap don’t fit my needs). However, I would consider a Speedy 35/40 with more substantial hardware and bigger handles and strap.
The pictures labeled “Keepall” are all “Speedy” bags.
the first photo is a keepall though…
You can’t read?
And the one labeled a Boho Speedy is just a Speedy Soft 30. The boho has ostrich leather trim and handles.
Very boring
The “can” bag shouldn’t be included – it isn’t a Speedy bag.
Weird. And not in a good way.
Some nice options but for a day to evening Speedy, I will stick with my Speedy Trunk 25.
This reminds me of all the soccer players carrying Hermes off of the planes. It felt to me like an oversaturation that was a little hard to believe. And the irony of advertising a bag that a majority of the people that want one can’t get. I didn’t see the point then either. I feel like most of these people either return the bag or pass it off to their assistant. And then collect their paycheck.
I want the pants the in the first pic!!
darn it. now I want the one that Melton carries
My grandmother bought her first speedy and use asa diaper bag for my mom! She told she paid $72.00 for it in 1971!
