For many of us, including me, January feels like the longest month of the year. If you live in a cold climate like New York or otherwise, you can relate to the fact that 31 degrees (or less) makes the 31 days in January feel so much longer than the same 31 days in June.
Still, there are moments of lightness if you look hard enough, like the release of pre-spring and spring collections after months of winter-themed collections and holiday gift guides, offering a glimmer of hope that warmer weather is coming.
Still, while winter can feel really rough, dressing the part can make it that much better, as can wearing a good bag. This week, some of our favorite style stars showed off some really great bags with outerwear to rival them. Let’s take a look at four of our favorites!
Rihanna
Arguably one of the best bag collections (IMHO) we’ve covered is Rihanna’s. She has a great mix of both hot new bags and rare vintage icons alike, and (and this is a big AND) she’s never been photographed carrying a Birkin (!!!!).
Earlier this week, she stepped out to support her longtime partner and baby daddy A$AP Rocky at his album release party, carrying one of those vintage gems: a 1990s Louis Vuitton Tigre Pochette.
Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina Carpenter braved the deep freeze that descended upon the city earlier this week, keeping warm in a fur-trimmed coat. She accessorized with sky-high Louboutins and the Valentino DeVain.
Laura Dern
Laura Dern, who stars in In This Thing On, which premiered late last year, was seen outside The Crosby Hotel in a very chic outfit pairing cool grey with sleek black. Her shearling-lined leather coat was worn open, revealing a sheer top, and I’ve now decided I want to be Laura Dern when I grow up. The finishing touch? Loro Piana’s new Extra Softy bag in chic black silk…swoon.
Haley Lu Richardson
The White Lotus’ Haley Lu Richardson was seen in SoHo smiling for shutterbugs on the heels of the premiere of her new series, Ponies. The 30-year-old actress embraced the city freeze in an on-trend faux fur coat paired with cargo jeans and an old favorite—the Louis Vuitton Thames bag.
I like Haley Lu’s outfit. It’s fun.
I loooooooove Haley Lu. She is so cool! Her vintage bag choice too is fire!
Sabrina Carpenter’s heels were ridiculous. Nobody’s walking a mile in those shoes! If she keeps wearing shoes like that she’ll eventually be forced to choose one of two paths: 1. foot surgery, probably multiple times or 2. relegated to a life in Skecher’s.
Regarding your first paragraph: There are only 30 days in June.
