Louis Vuitton Women’s Cruise 2022 Shows Optimism and Joyful Colors

Plus the bags are really good...

The excitement of fashion shows are back and Nicolas Ghesquière did not disappoint when it came to showing Louis Vuitton Women’s Cruise 2022 collection earlier this week in a new town, Cergy-Pontoise. The setting fused architecture with a futuristic 2 mile runway at Axe Majeur near Paris, which is a monumental masterpiece by the late artist Dani Karavan. The promenade is a beautiful utopia, one that showed the proud, positive looks in a serene and memorable environment. And though the joy of the fashion show and the magnitude of it was felt, it was still different as it lacked the hoards of people, but this played back to show that creation is the most beautiful of passports which allows us to be unlimited and free.

As for the bags, the Coussin, Pont 9 and Petite Malle were updated in new colorways and different renditions. Chunky (removable) chain straps in tactile materials and different colorways were paired with House silhouettes to update the bags for a Cruise feeling.

The Coussin is here to stay (a bag I personally love) and was shown in an eye-catching purple option, jewel green, and black variation with white Monogram and a chunky red chain strap. The oversized chain strap accents the bag and makes a huge statement, but it is also removable which is nice to tone down the bag a bit.

The Pont 9 continues to be a classic option for the House and there are a few different versions that went down the runway. The white rope chain handle gives this bag a nautical touch paired with the Since 1854 Monogram. Ghesquière brought back the Since 1854 Monogram in a lighter hue (which I am quite fond of) with offsetting pink and blue leather details on different bags.

There’s a really cool multi-color patchwork bag as well and some nice relaxed hobo style bags with fresh and light pink and blue hues of leather accenting the Since 1854 Monogram along with a classic LV Monogram option as well. The bags that were part of Louis Vuitton Cruise 2022 weren’t expansive in number, but it’s a really strong collection – one that I really adore and feel like many of you will agree.
