Louis Vuitton Banks Big on Mini Bags for Fall 2019

Minis (apparently) are still a must

For handbag lovers, the Louis Vuitton fashion show is one of the most anticipated of Paris Fashion Week. Unlike many other design houses that show at PFW, Louis Vuitton is unique because the brand started as a travel goods and handbag company and then RTW was introduced later on—versus the other way around. The construction of Vuitton bags is unparalleled, and Vuitton’s rich history coupled with designer Nicolas Ghesquiere’s artistic vision makes for a highly anticipated collection season after season.

Though there were some monogram bags to be seen, the collection as a whole wasn’t completely monogram heavy, however it was full of mini bags. Ghesquiere introduced new versions of the Mini Luggage BB Bag, which was introduced on the Spring-Summer 2019 runway. These new designs are a play on the traditional Vuitton Damier canvas, and feature a bold color-blocked design. Exotics were also at play here, with a stunning burgundy croc appearing on the Petite Malle, and a cube-like bag. Small pillowy versions of the Twist bag were also seen as well as a very wearable small saddle bag, which looks similar to the Chantilly Lock Bag. View all the bags from the runway below.
