The Spring 2026 season has seen an incredible number of new handbag launches during fashion’s great reset. With more than a handful of luxury fashion’s new designer debuts hitting stores, this season has arguably been one of the most anticipated shopping seasons for handbag lovers in years.
That rings especially true for Dior. Dior, under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson, feels bold, fresh, and entirely new, yet distinctly Dior, with nods to its heritage.
Bags offer refreshed takes on Dior’s most important House codes, and few bags exemplify Anderson’s vision for Dior like the Dior Crunchy—and we’re obsessed.
Meet the Dior Crunchy Bag
The Dior Crunchy bag, which first debuted on the Spring 2026 runway, is the first bag in a while to feel new and exciting, introducing an exaggerated take on Dior’s iconic Cannage quilting. Given the sheer number of handbag designs we’ve seen over the years, many times bags feel like an extension of another, or something we’ve seen before.
While the shape of the Crunchy bag is actually quite simple, when you break down each element of the bag’s design, they all come together to create something that feels modern and exciting. Anderson combines a soft, relaxed construction with padded Dior Macrocannage, which adds a tactile, 3D-esque take on one of Dior’s most emblematic motifs.
A Fresh Take on Dior Heritage
Dior’s iconic Cannage pattern dates back to 1947. Designed by Mr. Dior himself, it was inspired by the wickerwork of the Napoleon III chairs that originally seated guests at Dior’s early fashion shows at 30 Avenue Montaigne.
The pattern has been used throughout Dior’s history, and of course Anderson, whose aesthetic marries heritage with modern flair, refreshed the motif for this first collection, proving that it has and will continue to inspire rebirth and reinvention. Adding to its innovative appeal, metal eyelets with gold-finish metal spell out the House’s signature D-I-O-R logo.
The Crunchy bag, which arrives in two sizes—small and medium—is perfect for daily use, but also allows for day-to-night wear, especially in the smaller size, as its shoulder strap and double chain are removable. Arriving in a range of colors, from neutral hues like black and latte to fun options like butter yellow and bold pink, the Dior Crunchy bag is the cool-girl carry we’d wear with everything from jeans and a white tee to elevated evening looks.

Wow! Maybe the bag looks better IRL but the pics make it look cheap. Pass for me.
The chain and the treatment of “DiOr” logo are not attractive to me.
I like this bag a lot. But the price seems just a tad bit too high for a cloth bag.
What are you talking about? According to the Dior site, the bags are made of calfskin and lined in lamb skin.
The issue is people are willing to spend $4,200 on a fabric bag just because it says “DiOr.” The added value is all in the logo… we all know the bag costs $50 to make.
