Introducing the New Louis Vuitton Slouchy Bag

Available for pre-order now, we have your first look

It’s clearly not a secret that I love bags. Hence, I’ve been in this industry for nearly twenty years now talking about them.

Many brands were part of my trajectory into this space, and Louis Vuitton will always be one of the big ones. The big brand that made me fall in love with bags, the big brand that I would peer into its windows and dream of one day owning one of its wares, and the big brand that I can say was my first premiere designer purchase.

Speaking of which, my Louis Vuitton Wapity Bag (which I bought from eLuxury—that is a throwback, trust me—for $255 in 2006) was my first Louis Vuitton purchase and the first big purchase I made from ad dollars from this site.

When I tell you it is special to me, it’s really special. Also, I know Louis Vuitton didn’t ask me, but I will give unwarranted advice and tell them to bring the Wapity back but elongate it just enough to fit my phone.

At that point, LV can just take my money.

Disclosure: This Louis Vuitton Slouchy bag and the accompanying accessories are samples from the LV offices. All products were returned after being photographed!

Available Exclusively Online

This was my long-winded introduction to the brand-new Louis Vuitton Slouchy Bag.

Right now, you can pre-order this bag exclusively online, and the reason I rambled, leading into sharing this bag, is that it sends me right back into those very early-day vibes for me. The Slouchy feels both modern and nostalgic all at once, and it’s one of those bags that sparks that little part of me that will forever feel giddy about bags.

The bag features the iconic LV Monogram, so if you are not a logo lover, this version isn’t for you.

There are two sizes, the smaller PM and the larger MM, and the bag is intended to give you precisely what its name suggests: a slouchy appeal. The coated canvas will give a bit with time anyhow, but in this style, it allows the bag to slouch downward and sit nicely when carried over the shoulder or by hand.

A significant design touch is the padlock name tag that sits on one side of the strap, very similar to the new Low Key Bag. It seems this may be a returning theme for the house that ties back to the brand’s heritage and craftsmanship.

Other noteworthy details include the cowhide leather trim, double zip closure, gold-toned hardware, interior zipped pocket, and textile lining. Because of the way the bag can sit, it fits very comfortably on my side under my arm without bulging out or falling off my shoulder. This bag is light and easy to use and is in line with the trend of many new LV bags offering a less rigid structure and more malleable shapes.

(Semi-?)Charmed Bag Life

Accessorizing your accessories remains a major trend in the bag world. While on one end, we have the whole quiet luxury push, on the other, we have the customization push, and I love both extremes.

I got into bags because they have always been a natural extension of my outfit and a way to express myself, so additional charms only further that.

Louis Vuitton offers everything from scarves (which I am still working on how I prefer to tie onto a bag) to bag charms that are either for keychains or to hang from the bag. The Slouchy has handy spots that allow for personalization, and I like having fun with my bag.

Next time you do an unboxing, could you please include photos of the bag’s interior? And make that a practice for future bag reveals/reviews? The inside of a bag is something I consider carefully before purchasing but so many bag reveals never bother to show it.

Antonia

I miss e-Luxury!!! That was a great website!! Congrats on your new bag!

Hamilton

I miss eLuxury as well. I bought several bags from LV this way.

Bee

Was this gifted by the brand?

Sarah

Thanks for your transparency Megs!

Thehoneybug

Very important question!

anna

What size was this sample??

Bag2K

It looks like any other LV monogram bag thats forgetable.

Mia

Slouchy is better for leather as the folds showcase how sumptuous the leather is (like the Loewe Flamenco). Slouchy canvas doesn’t work for me.

Robin

I love it! But it reminds me very much of my Graceful (Which has a magnet close not zip). So unlikely to invest in something so similar. But very pretty!

A good looking bag and for a second I was like 2400 thats not bad then I checked myself – the price I will not do. No way.

Karen

I now have this bag and LOOOVE it.

Paris

I’d like to see pictures of you modeling your new bag. I’m just curious if it is snug on your shoulder and how it hangs. 😊

Paris

I misunderstood and thought it was “your” bag, but after reading the above comments I realize it wasn’t. Since you’ve already returned it that’s ok, but thanks!

Ann

I love a slouchy bag and I an a fan of LV’s, but this bag is not quite doing it for me. I think the big drawback for me is the canvas. I shy away from the tmonigramhese days *though I did purchase a monogram bag as my most recent purchase, so . . . ). I find the print a bit blah, and the vachetta too fussy for me. If I purchase a canvas, it tends to be the DE or the DA (DE because there is no vachetta issue, DA because it just goes better with my wardrobe). Otherwise, I have been (slowly) gravitating toward LV’s leathers, which are stunning. I will wait to see what other iterations of this bag we get, because I love the shape. And. clearly, I love to babble about handbags, and about LV. LOL.

Maxine

Loved hearing you babble 😊

Classic mono canvas LV- I love it!

Ann

I love a slouchy bag, but not the monogram canvas. I think I will wait to see what other iterations of the bag LV issues.

KARI WAUGH

Do you have the dimensions of both pm and mm? I don’t see it on the site

SAS

Love it. But it definitely reminds me of my Sully, probably why I like it 🙂

Toni

I absolutely have to have this bag. It reminds me so much of the Sully. It was a bag that worked so well for me for years. I did sell when the “structured” bag trend started.
I really wanted a new canvas bag that was bigger. I’m tired of the small bag trend. I pre-ordered, and cannot wait!!!

Bea

I kind of like the MM size more but not the price right now. Very curious if the canvas will have issues due to slouch. I do like this

Cutting Edger

Absolutely in love with this new bag! The slouchy style looks so versatile and the craftsmanship is impeccable. Can’t wait to see it in person!

Blankie

Glad you took pictures like these. Their website pics make them look not so roomy in the middle.

Michele

How much is the bag? And how much is the charm with the little purse on it ? 😍😍😍
