Few brands boast the same incredible attention to leathercraft and artisanal details as Loewe. Founded in Madrid, Spain, it is one of Europe’s oldest leather Houses.
Once under-the-radar and largely considered one of fashion’s best-kept secrets—an ‘if you know, you know‘—go-to for chic, yet impeccably well-crafted handbags (and more), these days, Loewe is one of the fashion world’s most-wanted luxury brands.
Known not only for its quality and attention to detail and craft, Loewe’s distinct aesthetic stands out in the oversaturated handbag market, which is why we come back to it time and time again. What the House continues to do so well, despite changing times and new milestones, is combine its distinct heritage with modernity.
The Evolution of the Flamenco Purse
The Loewe Flamenco Purse is the perfect embodiment of this, taking an archival design that has been a cornerstone of the brand since the 1970s and modernizing it with contemporary touches. Those updates include a donut chain embellished with a distinct Loewe Anagram-engraved Pebble charm. Meanwhile, its supple leather drawstring cinched closure stays true to the original design of the Flamenco.
This season, the fan-favorite sees a fresh update, one that combines everything we know and love about the Flamenco Purse with form and function—and we are obsessed!
What continues to stand out about Loewe is its leathers—and this bag is no exception. One of the bags I receive the most compliments on is my Loewe Puzzle Hobo, which is beloved for its smooshy, perfectly smooth leather that feels oh-so-luxe. The Flamenco Purse Tote feels just the same, crafted from supple nappa lambskin that feels as soft as it looks.
The Perfect Everyday Tote
The vertical shape combines the style of the Flamenco Purse with the effortless appeal of a tote—but not just any tote, one that is also chic and stylish.
What else is noteworthy?
This bag offers multiple ways of carrying. There’s the classic Flamenco knot drawstrings, which also function as top handles, the monochrome donut-chain shoulder strap for an elevated appeal, or a longer leather shoulder strap.
The Loewe Flamenco Purse Tote is large enough to carry a mid-sized wallet, a book (or Kindle!), a small water bottle, a smartphone, and more—without being so large that it looks more utilitarian than stylish. It’s the kind of bag you could wear to the office and head right to dinner or drinks later without looking out of place.
Styling the Flamenco Purse with Loewe Favorites
I paired it with a few of my other favorite pieces from Loewe’s Fall 2026 collection, opting for Loewe denim because Loewe makes some of the best jeans (I already own two pairs, and I loved the fun, unique bubble shape of these), which looked cool paired with the Loewe Pebble Soft Mules.
Speaking of soft, these shoes live entirely up to their name. The leather is soft and malleable, and the small heel made these incredibly easy to walk in—I’ve already added them to my holiday wishlist!

I’m not getting flamenco vibes at all from this- I’m getting old school Foley + Carinna had a baby with the Loewe squeeze.
Omg. I literally just thought this. And I still have 2 of these bags. The leather is still in great shape. This is lazy from Loewe.
That is so funny, I had that bag, and I loved that bag back in the 80s! And as much as I would like to merge it with a designer, and I like it better than the Chanel similar style, I just can’t be paying over $4000 for a bag that maybe somebody sitting around the designtable said “hey! Does anybody remember the Foley and Carinna bag from the 80s??!”
I LITERALLY WENT INTO MY WARDROBE LOOKING FOR MY FOLEY + CORRINA AFTER SEEING THIS! ❤️
I really like it, just wish it came in more colours.
It’s a new Flamenco model but what I’m waiting for exited is the New Christmas collection inspired in Lois Wain with hundreds of cats and handcraft.
beautiful bag… and the shoes!!
