A Close Up Look At Loewe’s Fall 2019 Runway Bags

Did Jonathan Anderson just steal the hearts of fashionistas around the globe?

In a fashion-filled world of mini-bags and oversized logos, it’s refreshing to see a collection of extremely wearable bags that are both on trend, but classic enough to stand the test of time. It’s often hard for a designer to strike the perfect balance of both of-the-moment and classic, but with Loewe’s Fall 2019 bags it seems that Jonathan Anderson has done just that. The collection as whole oozes a sort of chic simplicity, containing beautiful bags designed with the modern woman in mind.

New versions of the cult favorite Puzzle bag were introduced as well as updates to the adorable Gate Crossbody Bag. This collection also featured a few top handle bags, again an indication that fashion is moving away from the incredibly popular cross body and shoulder bag styles that currently make up a large majority of the market. Anderson also embraced stripes and color blocking, with many of the bags featuring contrasting colors. View all of the bags from Loewe’s Fall 2019 Runway below.

Oh my. How ugly. #5 for when you wanna dispose of a body in style.

Ha! Thoughts on the rest? I’m really loving the new puzzle (12) and 14 is super chic and classic!

I think they took Vogues article about it being the avant garde Hermès competitor and ran with it lol. Uhm. It’s different. I do enjoy the stripes. Some of them give me Phoebe Philo vibes and I’m here for that. I just want them to bring back the feet and extra D-ring on the small puzzle!

Belle

Nothing as exciting or fresh as the Puzzle.

rudy

I was thinking the same. Although I do like the ones with black and white stripes.

Kaitlin Serio

I do love the Puzzle!

Master Green

I think it’s fine.

I like the two tone puzzle bag in picture 7. My thoughts on Loewe haven’t schanged. Beautiful bags that are nice to look at but not to buy. I don’t find them especially functional.

JW Anderson is making great bags as Puzzle, Hammock or Gate. But he has rescued the Lantern bag, a Loewe bag in 50’s with light and a mirror inside the bag. When Ava Gadner was a Loewe customer in Madrid and Paris.
I have to comment about the quality of the bags, the leather is chosen by experts hand crafters from years.
Thanks Kaitlin for the post.

Am I the only one waiting for the return of Amazona?

Can you say “Bag Lady”? I just couldn’t get past the clothes to really see the bags. It looked like they were dressed in rags! Hideous!? Black hoseriey & white white athletic shoes. Horrible!

Alice

That’s funny! I had to go back and look at the clothes since I didn’t notice them the first time. I think I have tunnel vision and just see bags. 🙂

Vicky

Love them!

Alice

Some of these are hideously large and ridiculous! Seriously, who would buy them?
