Gigi Hadid Opened the Jacquemus Spring 2024 Show with a Brand New Bag

And you can shop it now...

Fashion and pop culture fanatics did a collective gasp in mid-January when Jacquemus posted its Spring 2024 show invitation, featuring none other than Kristin Davis, aka Charlotte York.

In the weeks leading up to the show, which took place yesterday in Paris, the brand teased its new collection, dropping little hints to its Instagram page as to what fans could expect. One thing is for sure: when it comes to Jacquemus, you can expect weird—in the coolest possible way, like a double-decker kitten-heeld sandal, exaggerated proportions, and unique tailoring.

With each new collection, Simon Porte Jacquemus, the man behind the label, continues to elevate his place in the luxury space, proving that fashion can be experimental and fun but also unfussy and accessible.

His work is not yet done, and the designer told Vogue ahead of the show that his goal continues and will remain to be to “make [this] company better and better—not bigger and bigger—” a mistake that so many brands make in its early years.

Pop Luxury

In a world of minimalism, Jacquemus continues to stand out from the crowd, and even though this collection was more muted than past collections, Porte Jacquemus assures us he’s not trying to join the quiet luxury movement.

“No! We are pop luxury, I think. Because of the shoulder, the shape, the wrongness, and also the sense of humor,” he said.

As for the bags, an array of cool shapes was seen on the runway, and that innovation and uniqueness make Jacquemus shine. In a world of archival revivals and classic shapes, Jacquemus is one of the rare brands whose offerings feel fresh.

The collection further expanded on the La Pochette Rond Carré, a best-seller last season. Shown in solid leather and snakeskin, it will continue to reign this spring. New silhouettes include the Le Calino, a rounded top handle that opens from the side (carried by Gigi Hadid), and Le Vanito, a circular vanity case.

Items from Les Sculptures are available to shop now via Jacquemus.
