There is still a large part of handbag consumption that is driven by name recognition, from the brand itself to the signaling logo. While Carolina Herrera is a household fashion name, when it comes to bags, the brand has largely remained outside of that cycle, and that’s precisely part of its appeal.
Founded in 1981 by Carolina Herrera, the New York-based fashion house became synonymous with elegant dressing, attracting a clientele that included socialites, business leaders, political figures, and women who value a very sophisticated, bold, and feminine wardrobe. Now, under the direction of Global Creative Director Wes Gordon, that philosophy continues to influence the brand’s handbag collections today.
While many luxury houses have leaned heavily into seasonal hype and collectible accessories, Carolina Herrera’s bags tend to prioritize versatility, craftsmanship, and wearability.
In many ways, Carolina Herrera was embracing the principles of quiet luxury long before the term entered the fashion vocabulary. Its handbags appeal to shoppers seeking understated elegance, thoughtful design, and the confidence that comes from carrying something chosen for personal taste rather than public recognition.
Mimi
I am kicking it off with The Mimi, because she might be my favorite! This bag stands out for its structured silhouette and the gold-tone kiss-lock closure, which gives a lovely jewelry-like touch. The body of the bag is crafted from supple leather, and it can be used for everything from daytime to evening wear.
I saw a comment recently that said my sharing that a bag can fit a phone seems like the lowest bar, but for evening bags, this is an ongoing issue. Having a compact bag that melds beautifully with evening wear and isn’t too large to appear bulky is a fine line, which means phones often won’t fit. This bag, however, will fit an iPhone Pro, so that is a big selling point for me.
The overall dimensions are 18 cm x 9.5 cm x 9 cm, and the bag features a magnetic closure and a leather lining.

Luci
The Luci line appeals to a classic, almost vintage-feeling, ladylike aesthetic. When bags were still compact and structured, but could be carried over your shoulder. The design is slim enough to sit under your arm without feeling bulky, and it’s tapered to the top for more comfortable wear.
She’s chic, she’s elegant, and she comes in beautiful hues. Overall dimensions are 26 cm x 16 cm x 6 cm, with a 22 cm drop, and on the inside, you’ll find an interior pocket as well.

Pia
Next is the Pia, a bag inspired by Carolina Herrera’s granddaughter. You can see the elements that make this bag feel younger, with the playful tassel detail and soft silhouette. It says young but still timeless.
The chain handle is detachable, allowing it to be worn in multiple ways. Dimensions are 32.5 cm x 17 cm x 11.5 cm, and the bag closes with a secure zipper.

Consuelo
You can immediately see the resemblance to a fan when you see the Consuelo clutch. This bag is a nod to the Italian elegance and artistry that were reflected throughout Carolina Herrera’s overall collection. There is a (detachable) wrist strap for ease of carrying, and guess what else… it can fit an iPhone Pro (so you know I am sold!).
Dimensions are 29 cm x 17.5 cm, and the bag offers a leather lining and an interior pocket.
