The Hermès Bag Colors of Spring/Summer 2024

The Spring 2024 season has finally kicked into gear here, with the days just starting to get warm, although according to the fashion calendar, we are past the season’s midpoint. Still, Hermès has continued to generate intrigue throughout, especially in the leather department.

Here, I will share my observations regarding what I have seen on offer so far and (of course!) my leather charts.

The usual caveats: while I do my best to be comprehensive (at least color-wise), my research can only be as good as what people share. I use a variety of resources, but bear in mind that new colors and/or leathers may appear throughout the season.

Please include whatever details of the bag you can (note that leather colors for shoes and SLGs are different and that these charts only reflect bag colors).

I have taken some time to create new swatches, so the SS24 charts reflect the specific leathers in which these colors are available, with further details below.

The New Hermès Colors for 2024

There are three new colors for Spring/Summer 2024:

• Orange Field, a medium-bright Orange with rosy undertones.
• Jaune Milton, a pale buttercup yellow similar to Jaune Poussin.
• Gris Misty, a dark, steely gray with some blue undertones.

Here is the leather chart for SS24:

The first thing to note is the sheer variety of color shades offered in regular leathers this season. If you like green, there are a variety of shades of green; if you are looking for red, there is everything from pink-reds to orange-reds to blue- and brown-reds.

I can’t recall a prior season where there were quite so many shades of each color spread out fairly proportionally (there will always be plenty of blue, but there are even two shades of purple!). A second thing to note is the expansion of Ostrich colors, including several shades of pink, the much-loved Mykonos, and Bougainvillier (one of my personal favorites in Ostrich; it’s like the color of a ripe strawberry).

At the same time, I do not see quite as many exotic colors as usual, although it seems like they’ve offered at least one shade of most colors (I’m still looking out for red and orange).

It also appears that Hermès is producing a bit more variety in the leathers offered: not everything is in Epsom or Togo this season, although those two leathers are still being utilized frequently. In particular, there is a lot more Evercolor being produced, as well as more Chevre Mysore (noted here as “Chevre”), as well as Clemence and Chevre Chamkila (“Chamkila”):

Finally, the following exotic and unusual material options are being produced for the season.

In addition to the exotic leathers, Alligator, Crocodile, Lizard, and Ostrich, there are also several colors of Canvas; Grizzly (rough suede), Quadrille, and Silk, as well as the expanded return of Porc.
