When you think of classic shoes, Manolo Blahnik is among the all-time great designers. He creates the kind of sophisticated, classic shoes that shoppers of all ages look for year in and year out, and in this Ultimate Shoe Guide, we’re demystifying the shopping process (including prices, heel heights, colors and leathers) for his most popular, enduring design: the Manolo Blahnik BB Pump.
The BB pump debuted in 2008 and is named after French model and actress Brigitte Bardot, who served as inspiration for this design. The BB comes in an enormous range of colors, textures, finishes and heel heights, from flat to stiletto, which means that it can serve a wide range of wardrobe needs.
Every season, the BB pump is issued in new colors, prints and materials, but the suede, solid-colored 105mm pumps are by far the most in-demand. The BB pump is also a favorite with celebrities like Reese Witherspoon, Victoria Beckham and many others. Even our handbag guru-in-chief, Megs, has professed her love for the iconic BB!
If you don’t have a Manolo BB in your shoe arsenal, we advise that you add one immediately. Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about purchasing a pair of your very own.
The Manolo Blahnik BB Pump
Year Created: 2008
Heel Heights Currently Available: 115mm, 105mm, 100mm, 90mm, 75mm, 70mm and 50mm.
Sizing: We find that sizing can vary depending on the wearer. However, Manolo Blahnik BB pumps generally run big. The consumer consensus is to order half-size smaller than your regular shoe size.
That is incredibly ignorant. Everything comes and goes. It all depends on the styling and choice. A kitten heel (just like every other heel height) is fashion.
Love the Manolo BB pumps, I wear them everyday in 50mm and 70mm, have a 100mm for evenings, but for everyday wear you cant beat the 50mm, I agree they run large, perfect for me- I am a 42 and rarely shoes fit, perfection, might add another to the collection just cause

Thank you for this article!!!! Im planning to buy a pair for myself ? does anybody know which material is most durable/has better wear??
I have suede, patent, and snakeskin BBC pumps. They ALL wear well. The only ones I don’t have are calf leather. From my experience, you can’t go wrong with any material. By the way, they are ALL comfortable.

I love my black suede 105mm! I was debating between the leather vs suede and the SA said the suede looks more expensive ( which they do) and can be dressed up or down, which the leather pair will only work with work / casual events. They are super comfy for feed which are normal to wide feet. I want to love Loubs, but most of their shoes are too narrow for me

The 50mm are definitely the most practical.
kitten heels are the demise of fashion.
