Back in June, news broke that British singer-songwriter and actor Harry Styles would be collaborating on a new collection with dear friend Alessandro Michele and the team at Gucci. Though it feels like we just learned about the collection, today, it’s finally here, and Gucci unveils a deeper look at the collection and its vibe in new campaign images starring Harry Styles himself.
Liberated Vanity
Gucci presents the Gucci HA HA HA collection, which arose from the kinship between Michele and Styles, celebrating the lightness of play, which is at the center of the collection. The collection is inherently unisex. Though inspired by menswear, with Gucci HA HA HA, the traditional elements of a man’s wardrobe are given an avant-garde touch, meant to be worn by all. Defined by a certain romanticism, the collection sees whimsical prints and vintage details which are bold and expressive. Speaking of expression, it’s that liberated sense of individuality that is celebrated with the Gucci HA HA HA collection.
“I’m so happy to see this project finally come to life. I’ve known Alessandro for years now, and he’s always been one of my favourite people. I’m always inspired watching him work, so doing this collaboration with my friend was very special to me.” – Harry Styles
The collection includes a variety of items from RTW and accessories to handbags and shoes, there is something for everyone, and yes, the collection is meant to be worn by one and all. The Gucci Jackie 1961 is reinvigorated in a vintage-y leopard print which also appears on a trunk that begs you to take a winter getaway. The collection is fine—nothing ground breaking. However, I love the pictures on the Gucci website. The campaign feels deliberately more joyous and uplifting than the usual vintage-inspired drab Michele has been serving us for the past few years.
The grommet bag is calling my name. I don’t like black handbags, but this one is fire!
The grommet bag is not good for my trypophobia
According to Geoff Cole, PhD “ trypophobia is the most common phobia you have never heard of”. I had no idea, myself, until I researched it.
$6,900.00 for that beauty!
I love the looks in the campaign. I’m already copying the yellow/black striped top; camel blazer; white pants look since buying a $690 is a no-go for me.
Now I’m on the hunt for a cream pinstripe blazer to recreate the look with the navy pants, white tank, blue scarf.
That Maxi check coat is beautiful. The others, I am underwhelmed.
